Nick Sheridan - CMU's new RB coach

His dad is the Lions' linebackers coach and has coached all over the place.

I remember that being part of his 'upside' as an otherwise unheralded recruit -- that as a coach's kid, he would have the right mindset even if the physical tools weren't "5-star"

Yeah. He was a walk-on with no Div-1 offers.

Right and it was because Threet was the only other QB and Mallett had bailed for ARK, right?

By the time Mallett was gone and Threet and Sheridan were competing, I think there was a true freshman in the wings, but I can't remember his name.

Wasn't that around the time Jack Kennedy was the 4th string QB?

ah... yeah... I just amazed myself by remembering his name without looking it up: Justin Feagin.

RR recruit. did he get kicked out for bad behavior or transfer after it was clear Forcier/Robinson were the future?

Impressive memory. I had to google it, but he was involved in a failed drug deal.
