Appropriate day for such a thread as its my Little Sister's Birthday and she went to state.

That's what bothers me most about Hart's comment from '07.

Some of us have Little Sisters who went to state, not just Little Brothers. So sexist and outdated.

Well off to brunch ..doubt the topic will come up. My sister prefers MICHIGAN football and her buckeye husband is a soccer player who doesn't know shit about football.

It's really amazing how msu fans just can't take a complaint at all. It boggles my mind. But whatever.

Nobody said life would be easy.

I think it might be Dantonio's fault. It's fine to preach disrespect to the team for motivation, but I think it was a mistake to sell it to the fans too. It takes some of the fun out of it.

Yes I understood that but your premise of those teams in the west having bad cycles aplies to all teams in both divisons which you left out And then the fight about 11 win seasons because you got pissed off as usual on this board and threw a fit after Vic blasted you in it. I get it. You always want the last word on everything.
Your the guy on the message board who throws a fit at everything and contributes nothing but animosity. Have a nice life.

no dummy, that's not my premise. my premise is that teams aren't that cyclical and there aren't any perennial powerhouse teams in the West. nothing at all like what you think I said. do you wake up in the morning and ask yourself "how can i make myself look even more stupid today?" then go over to dad and start typing?

exactly, so to heck with them. Their ADs want to be part of destroying the tradition chasing expansion and the almighty dollar, they shouldn't be excluded from the destruction they reap.

and by the way, michigan needs that game a lot more than you do - without it, recruiting Ohio would probably be a lot tougher for them and there aren't enough good players in michigan to compete with OSU. If you drew up the rosters by state, OSU would crush michigan every year.

Michigan has 15 players from Ohio on its roster and 52 from Michigan. Notable players from Ohio: Smith, Charleton, Butt, Kalis.

MSU has 22 players from Ohio and 42 from Michigan. Notable players from OH (whom I recognize): Scott, O' Conner, de Weaver, Frey. And if you break out the "Dantonio's Ohio roots" argument ...

It was an easy sell, apparently.

meh ....I'm not a soccer player and seem to hold my own just fine when it comes to talking football and presenting #Facts in the face of conjecture and rhetoric.

He's just one of those soccer guys who hates football because it's football ...he's all into paintball too.

Love the cherry-picked stats about random date in history from 1953

what is head to head series record from another random date in history...oh, let's choose 1970...

That "random date" was the first meeting between the schools where both were Big Ten members dip shit. I see you still offer little to the boards you post on. Maybe another name change could spark some originality.

He into LARP? That would be quite the trifecta.

I didn't think you were a soccer player.

I think LARP is one more screw missing from paintball.

Another screw missing from LARP and you're on the next bus to Hollywood, looking forward to portraying your LARP character in front of millions of adoring fans/tourists being photographed with them for their tips out front of the Hollywood Chinese Theater.

So it appears, though I hesitate to judge before all the facts are in, that MSU is as or more "reliant" as is Michigan on Ohio football talent. I'll leave it to you, the self-proclaimed expert of all things CFB (is there some sort of plaque or diploma for that, and how many of there are you in the world?) to put this in context in your next article in SI. I will also speculate that this is a recent development since Dantonio took over at MSU. Seems to me that I recall much optimism over his "deep connections in Ohio" when he took the job. And, now that MSU-OSU is an annual event, it appears that MSU will need those Ohio players as well to compete.

Even if that is true, what does that have to do with uofm being more reliant than osu on the osu/michigan rivalry? I know you uofm guys have fragile egos and have a hard time taking anything said about your program by Spartan fans without making it about MSU or how you were once great, etc, etc but it appears you've completely missed my point. Or are you trying to make the point that we should care about your rivalry because we benefit more from it than you do? It's irrelevant to us and everyone else who isn't a mich or osu fan. The Ohio kids we get aren't being recruited by OSU for the most part - of the names you mentioned only LJ Scott had an OSU offer. The other 3 weren't even recruited by OSU. And if memory serves, Scott didn't get his OSU offer until after he had committed to MSU. We get Ohio table scraps, we don't have or need a major rivalry with them nor do we rely on yours in any way.

When did I proclaim myself expert of all things CFB?
