So the deadline is in about 3 weeks. The Tigers aren't too far out of the wild card race. If they get back into the race, they still need to trade Skubal. If Harris does not trade him, it is almost malpractice.

I think if they are still in it at the deadline, they should trade Skubal and Rogers, but keep Mize and Torres. They should be able to get some really great talent for Skubal, and with Jobe expected back by the deadline, he can "take his place". If they are out of it, trade them all!

I think that Mize will test free agency, getting as much as they can for Skubal, but,
I just don't have any confidence with Harris, making the bed he has to lie in the past couple of years, asking for the moon and turning off the other GM's and PoBO's who might not want to deal with him.
With Melton, Jobe returning, and Montero, those are three good pitchers in the rotation.

FIVE FOR FRIDAY.
Totally Tigers

The countdown to the trade deadline is about to begin with just a little over 2 weeks left. Most trades happen in that final week.
It’s still unclear if the Detroit Tigers will be buyers or sellers. They could potentially even be both.
So who will be traded? Most likely their free agents after this season. They are Jack Flaherty, Kenley Jansen, Casey Mize, Jake Rogers, Tarik Skubal and Gleyber Torres.
I’ve taken the top 5 most likely to leave Detroit and put them in the order of most likely to least likely to be traded.

SATURDAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

The trade deadline is coming up in approximately 2 weeks. The Detroit Tigers have 6 players who will become free agents at the end of the season. Three of them would earn the Tigers a compensatory draft pick.
There are 3 starting pitchers, 1 reliever and 2 positional players. Those offering the most value in a trade will be Jack Flaherty, Casey Mize, Tarik Skubal and Gleyber Torres.
Mize and Skubal will be eligible for a qualifying offer. Torres remains on the IL but is expected back within a week or so.
But could the Tigers make a comeback in the last third of the season? If not, is it important for them to have enough talent on the roster so that their performance for the rest of the year doesn’t tank?
Also consider that the Tigers are unlikely to promote any of their top prospects for the rest of the year. Doing so would make them ineligible to play next year during a strike.
If you had to choose, which of the following 4 would you keep for the rest of the season and not trade? Remember, several of them would walk at the end of the season and the Tigers would get nothing in return.

Which free agent Tiger would you like to keep for the rest of the season?

1. Jack Flaherty

2. Casey Mize

3. Tarik Skubal

4. Gleyber Torres

Trade them all. That said, if they are still in the hunt at the deadline, keep Mize and Flaherty

Trade them all. Sad thing is that the shitty AL is keeping them just close enough for dipshit Harris to have a reason to keep them all. Hopefully after they keep them and still miss the playoffs Harris will be fired. It would be an all time bad front office move if Tarik walks for only a comp pick.

I am unable to vote for any of these players to keep.

Trade all of them and get some quality players in return, ready to contribute at Comerica Park.
