Bad news involving Denard

I remember that Brent Fullwood was also a key component of that Auburn offense. Neither team threw that much as I recall.

Bo was slowed a bit by injuries his senior year. That's part of the reason why Fullwood got 92 carries and Tommie Agee got 81 carries in the '85 season.

That's partly due to the fact that while Denard is one of the most likeable, marketable and fun guys possible, Cook is an utter douchebag whose own teammates could not stand

That's all rumor and speculation based on him not being voted captain. I'm not aware of a single team mate saying anything critical of Cook. But even if he was a complete douche, why would that have anything to do with him not being over-hyped? That makes no sense.

Key component? Brent Fullwood had 684 yards and 6 TDs rushing that year. that sounds more like a pedestrian backup and garbage time injury protection. Mark Ingram had 745 yards and 5 TDs receiving -easily as "key" as Full wood. MSU had 13 passing TDs to Auburn's 4 while total non-Bo to non-Lorenzo offensive TDs were basically even. I think it's safe to say both teams relied heavily on one TB - Aub had more rushing TDs while MSU was more balanced.

If you want to talk about White getting cheated out of a Heisman, the year is 1987, not 1985.

I think he probably deserved it both years but was more deserving in 1985. But it went to Bo, for the same reason it went to Tim Brown in 87, because at that time Heisman voters gave credit of a player's entire college career, not who was the best player that year as it was supposed to be. In 1987, Brown probably get a little extra juice because of the ND mystique BS and the fact that they were NC contenders.

They still don't always give it to the best player.

The whole premise of a "September Heisman" is that it's all media hype and completely manufactured for sports radio and barstools...

Denard was not only incredibly fun to watch, but an amazing guy and as personable as there is.

Cook is a dickbag who nobody likes and who will be as successful in the NFL as Denard has been, which isn't very.

So? That doesn't disprove my point in any way.

What does Cook have to do with Denard being overhyped in the first place? But let's assume it's not just smoke and mirrors to detract from the real point that Denard was consistently way overhyped, even though he was fun to watch against UConn, UMass, WMU, EMU, Bolwing Green, etc. Show me some evidence that Cook is a dickbag that nobody likes - something a little more convincing than a picture of him holding the B1G Championship MVP trophy followed by the caption "derrr".

I'll just post this in his defense...

All you have is the Archie Griffin handsake, which he apologized profusely for on ESPN, via twitter and on the phone with Archie. And before he was even aware of the controversy, he gave the MVP trophy to the offensive line. Seems like a great team player. Until I see something real from you to indicate he's actually a "dickbag", I'll have to assume 3-0 vs. michigan = dickbag...

If you enjoy passes that look like punts, he was definitely fun to watch!!
