She shouldn't have to be told. She should know to run on anything full out in that situation like she knows the way to get to her dorm room. The poor coaching is in the preparation, not the in game coaching, at which Hutch also sucks.

Teaching the fundamentals of baserunning and fielding is a glaring weakness in coach Hurchins She should hire a great fundamental coach in those categories and focus on teaching hitting pitching and recruiting, the things that she is great at.

Yes Hirch should be telling her in that situation to run full out on contact but Hutch should have taught them all long before the first pitch of the season to do that.
