Bryce Rainer is settling in during an unsettling spring for West Michigan's Whitecaps.
His work at shortstop is sterling. His bat is getting warmer as the Tigers' first-round pick from 2024 puts last year's shoulder separation behind and moves onward with the ravaged Whitecaps.

His record during five years as a Tigers farm coach and manager had been laudable. Then, on May 3, Alvarez sent a text that got him fired.

The sentence Alvarez said to the woman filing the harassment complaint just seems lacking in anything derogatory or sexual. I don't get it. He got fired for that??
 
Kudos to Bryce Rainer and Tigers player development for the massive swing teaks they have been able to implement in the last 45 days. 1000% less movement in his load, way quieter beginning to diminish the behind the body wrap, way more on time, and starting to pull the ball.
