Detroit Tigers Minor League Notes

Bryce Rainer with a sharp left-on-left single. That’s 6 multi-hit games in his last 8, and his June numbers are up to .357/.448/.643

Brett Callahan yanks a single to right at 104 MPH for his first Triple-A hit.

Terrific Double-A debut for Garrett Pennington, who added a 2-run single to his 2-run homer.

Back-to-back doubles for Thayron Liranzo and Chris Meyers give Erie a 7-1 lead.

Thayron Liranzo launches a solo homer to right to tie the game for Erie. It’s his 9th home run of the year.

Garrett Pennington crushes a 2-run homer to center in his first Double-A game to give Erie a 3-1 lead.

Max Clark with a nice bunt past the pitcher for a hit.
He practiced this bunt multiple times during batting practice today.

Bryce Rainer now batting .359/.482/.703 in June. Six homers, four doubles, and 15 walks to 19 strikeouts in 18+ games.

Tigers No. 3 prospect Josue Briceño continues his rehab assignment, making his Lakeland season debut tonight. Briceño missed the first 11 weeks this season w/a wrist injury to his throwing hand on a swing in late February requiring surgery.

Josue Briceno returns to the Tigers farm, and a quality hitter's forecast for Detroit is back intact.
Wrist surgery canceled Briceno's spring, but he's healed, again swinging a big left-hand bat, and a 21-year-old catcher/first baseman could soon be on Comerica Park's radar.

Detroit Tigers prospect Thayron Liranzo headed to MLB Futures Game.
The Detroit Tigers will have representation in the All-Star Futures Game.
MLB released the rosters for the All-Star Futures Game on Wednesday, July 1, with one Tigers minor leaguer making the team – catcher Thayron Liranzo, the team's No. 5 prospect per MLB Pipeline.
Liranzo, who was acquired along with shortstop Trey Sweeney in the 2024 trade that sent starter Jack Flaherty to the Los Angeles Dodgers, has slashed .234/.358/.440 in 44 games for Double-A Erie and six games for Low-A Lakeland in 2026.
