No Tigers last night, so it's a good time to shout out 10 under the radar prospects who may not be on top 10 lists now, but could be soon:
From Joe Rampe
Angel De Los Santos
Angel De Los Santos, 18, MIFFCL: 152 PA, .279/.349/.471, 103 wRC+, 5.9 BB%, 19.1 K%De Los Santos looks like a player who could not only stick at short but also have 50-55 grade tools across the board if things break right. His swing looks good + his numbers are encouraging.
Lucas Elissalt
Lucas Elissalt, 21, SPHigh-A: 55.1 IP, 4.39 ERA / 4.37 xFIP, 27.2 K%, 10.6 BB%, .254 BAAElissalt dominated the FSL in '25 + w/ a strong pitch mix + ability to command it. The walks have ticked up in '26 but so has the velo. Elissalt looks like a SP w/ a lot of untapped upside.
Jhonan Coba
Jhonan Coba, 19, SPFCL: 27 IP, 6.00 ERA / 5.37 xFIP, 28.9 K%, 17.4 BB%, .224 BAACoba doesn't have traditional SP size, but he's athletic + has a lightning bolt for an arm, w/ electric stuff to match. Like with all SPs, command will be key - but the upside is sky high.
Cale Wetwiska
Cale Wetwiska, 21, SPFCL/A: 13 IP, 2.77 ERA / 3.78 xFIP, 24.1 K%, 7.4 BB%, .286 BAAWetwiska gives some Troy Melton vibes, w/ a strong arsenal (106 tjStuff+) coming from a unique arm slot w/ big extension. He's shown decent command in a small sample + is another high upside SP.
Alistair Tanner
Alistair Tanner, 19, SPA: 25.2 IP, 6.31 ERA / 5.33 xFIP, 24.1 K%, 14.3 BB%, .221 BAAThe surface numbers to date aren't great, but the stuff is:FB averages 95 w/ 20" IVB + 2500 rpm. High-spin curve + slider also flash plus, as does the change. One of the best arms in the organization.
Oscar Tineo
Oscar Tineo, 17, MIFDSL: 73 PA, .293/.397/.414, 84 wRC+, 11.0 BB%, 17.8 K%Tineo is a fast twitch, switch-hitting shortstop who could be a plus defender in time. He's handled the strike zone in limited DSL action + has a loose, athletic swing. A lot to like in Tineo's profile.
Eduardo Tusen
Eduardo Tusen, 17, IFDSL: 86 PA, .325/.360/.588, 116 wRC+, 4.7 BB%, 22.1 K%Tusen's ultimate home on D is a ?, but the arm is good. + thanks to
tigersMLreport, we have video of the swing - it's also good, from both sides. There's thump in the bat + Tusen looks like hitterish.
Jude Warwick
Jude Warwick, 20, MIFA: 280 PA, .237/.323/.367, 89 wRC+, 9.6 BB%, 26.8 K%Warwick passes the eye test as a smooth-swinging LH hitter who plays up the middle w/ good speed. At a lanky 6'1", he's still growing into his strength - but the tools are there for a potential breakout.
Owen Hall
Owen Hall, 20, SPFCL: 30.2 IP, 6.16 ERA / 5.22 xFIP, 24.3 K%, 8.1 BB%, .220 BAAHall is a '24 2nd rnd pick who's dealt w/ injuries + has yet to take off. But 6'3" RH SPs w/ stuff + athleticism like this don't grow on trees.A potential #3 SP (or more) w/ some luck / development.
River Hamilton
River Hamilton, 19, SP(Currently on full-season IL)Hamilton is out for the yr w/ an injury, but his upside is as high as any pitcher in Detroit's system. The lanky 6'3" RHP has a projectable frame + looks the part, w/ potentially above avg stuff + command if all goes well.
