Friday night Big 10 games are coming

Stupid idea. College football is played on Saturdays. What sort of audience is going to watch Purdue vs Maryland on a Friday night?

The same that would watch it on a Saturday...not anyone i know

If you are the Big 10 network, you can put on a live game on Friday night or girls volleyball. They will get a lot more viewers putting on a shitty football game vs. anything else

Glad to see Michigan wants no part of this.

Completely ruins Saturday tailgating and for the shittier teams, sometimes that's all they have.

If Michigan is playing at 3:30 on Saturday on ABC and Purdue vs Maryland is on Big10 Network, I'll be watching Michigan, as will most people, I think. If they put that Purdue vs Maryland game on Friday night, I might watch both.

One of the reasons, I'd like to see Michigan play on a Thursday or Friday is that I love watching college football all day long on Saturday. I like to see as many different games as possible. If I went to a Michigan game on Saturday, that's it. If it's at 3:30, you might get to see a little of the night game, but other than that, you're seeing 1 game that day.

Well, I guess I would be fine if they decided to exclude Michigan and included only shitty games.

Seems that all the teams could decline like M and OSU have? So to put this terrible idea out of our misery?

Over saturation is not a good thing. It's contributing to the NFL's decline right now with Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night Football, and Monday Night Football. There's a reason Michigan gave a flat out "NO" response to this, and it's not just about "keeping tradition". It cheapens the product.

Friday nights are also when high school football games take place. They will not get a chance to visit campuses on gameday or watch these games live which impacts recruiting.

The shitty Big 10 teams would probably like having the TV exposure.

And an even more empty stadium.

Friday night means they go against high school games. Fans who have kids that play are going to go to the high school game and wont' be watching on TV anyway. Plus, traffic is probably easier going to a high school game and the cost is quite a bit better.

This is dumb.

Attendance for the Friday night MSU vs Furman game was 74,500. I would guess that the attendance for these games won't be very different than a shitty Saturday game.

Neat. Maybe some schools will still get numbers. The idea is still lame.

Nothing like getting to tailgate for 8 minutes after work before you have to get to your seats. Riveting.

Kids have classes on Fridays too. They also work. Traffic would suck just as bad if not worse on a Friday evening. There's not a lot of positives here.
