GAME 104 - Detroit Tigers vs. Kansas City Royals, Friday, July 24, 2026, 6:40 PM

Hanifee gets Thomas to freaking 1-2.
Now it’s 3-2. Then a ground out to Ss.
Perez also 6-3. To end 8th.

That is the best half inning for Jansen I have seen in a long time.

Tigers win a pitchers duel 2-1 Final.

Gotta find some sticks.

Isn’t that 10 games in a row with the royals that have been a win for either team by 2 runs or less.

Damn white Sox keep winning . Need Houston to come back,
We are going to need either a ton of luck, or a sustained win streak (like a winning percentage of .700 for the rest of the season) to get into the playoffs. There are too many teams ahead of us that are still winning in terms of both the wild card and the division.

Cleveland is trailing 7-1 at Tampa bay in 7th.
White Sox lead 5-0 at home over Astros top 6th.
Twins vs A’s. 0-0 bottom in 4th.

We play division opponents 25 more times
Chicago 7 more times . (3 at home , 4 away).
Cleveland 7 more times .(3 at home 4 away)
Minnesota 6 more times. 3 at home 3 away),
Probably need a 13-7 or 14-6 more in these games
(I think)

Plus 5 more with KC .
2 at home and 3 away.

Maybe 17-8 over all 25 right ?

It all depends on who the wins are against. We need to gain 6 games on the White Sox, and 5 games on the Guardians to capture the division. Sweep both of them (6-1 against the Guardians), and go over .500 against the twins and Royals, and we can win the division on our own terms. Do less than that, and we have to rely on them losing more games than us to make up any difference. The wild card has an easier path, bit it still involves more teams.
