After a ghastly month of May, the Detroit Tigers went 15-11 in June. So far in July, they are 12-5 (through Thursday’s games).
Now only 5 games under .500, they remain in 4th place and 6 games out of 1st place. They are 4 games out of a wild card playoff spot with 7 other teams ahead of them.
Some of their struggles can be traced to a significant number of injuries earlier in the year. Some players have come back and a few others have recently gone on the IL.
PoBO Scott Harris will have to make a difficult decision within the next 9 days. It has to do with whether or not to trade Tarik Skubal. His decision will be based mostly upon how likely the Tigers could make the playoffs.
