GAME 106 - Detroit Tigers vs. Kansas City Royals, Sunday July 26, 2026, 1:10 PM

Last two games are a microcosm of a bad and poorly constructed baseball team. These losses are getting old.

Kevin’s 9th inning ab was poor. But like whole team we just lack fundamentals.. His job is to get Lee to 3rd. Anything better than that is a bonus . After he challenged and lost he just hacked away at the next pitch, and popout to left, and Torres K’d on 3 pitches. 5 pitches from two of our best hitters.. <Poor At bats.

AJ making excuses for the soft contact hit and homer in the 8th.
Such BS. I know it’s the majors but those are bad hits in those counts.

Torres is playing like he is still nursing an injury. His at bats have been very poor, as well. He was supposed to be the veteran that actually does control the strike zone, and that hasn't been in evidence at all. He took a swing at 5 or 6 pitches in this game that were clearly not strikes, and it they weren't pitches with a ton of movement, either.

Why wasn’t Baez recalled ? He played at Toledo yesterday. He is playing today .

I agree. He looks hurt still.

According to AJ
Carpenter felt something in his heal. That is why he left the game.

Boxscore of a team that plays down to the competition.

Tigers bullpen blows another late lead. Same shit, different year.
The Tigers didn’t swing the bats real well, but again it was the bullpen who cost them late.

This is what has plagued him for a while.

AJ He said that he felt it pop [carpenter] again. My guess is he hits the dl when Baez comes up. Hope not.

From the above article.

That was the 17th game in which the Tigers have blown a lead in the seventh inning or later.

Tigers rally for naught as bullpen blows it again vs Royals.
The Detroit Tigers bullpen surrendered another lead late Sunday, July 26, in the series finale against the Kansas City Royals.
The Tigers held a one-run lead entering the eighth inning before Michael Massey, who entered the game as a pinch-hitter, hit a two-run home run off lefty reliever Drew Sommers to give the Tigers a 5-4 loss.
