Texas 8th
Kahnle in
4-3
Single (.154 hitter)
F-7

That’s a strike ump.

Bottom 8th still 2-1 tigers .

About to watch a nice ballgame and I see it's over already :) Time is messed up or the game was fast.Glad they got the W.

He was pissed. That pitch was a strike. Clearly hit the bat. Not sure why it wasn’t reviewed. A few innings later he had a Guy 0-1 and the next pitch was right down the middle . Didnt get the call. The guy bounced out a few pitches later but it should been a K.

I mean Cleveland and KC had pretty easy schedules recently but i thought Just maybe Philadelphia and Boston would slow them both up. Nope.

Pitchers over last 125 yrs with 50+ K's and no more than 1 BB in a 6-outing span:
2025 Tarik Skubal
2021 Gerrit Cole (2 overlapping spans)
2021 Corbin Burnes
2019 Yu Darvish (2 overlapping)
2015 Max Scherzer
2002 Curt Schilling
2000 Pedro Martinez

Skubal (12 K's) utterly dominant as Detroit wins 5th straight.
Ace left-hander sets Tigers record with 32 whiffs, most by an MLB pitcher since 2023.

SATURDAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

Other than injuries to some key players this season, the Detroit Tigers are having a great year.
They are tied with the Dodgers with most games won (through Thursday) – 25 for a .658 winning percentage.
There are the resurrections of 2 former #1 draft picks in Spencer Torkelson and Casey Mize. Tork leads the team in HRs and RBIs while also having one of the best slash lines.
Mize leads the starting rotation with a 6-1 record, 2.53 ERA and 1.008 WHIP.
Then there is Javier Baez who leads the team in BA (.317) and has one of the top slash lines. He also is playing a solid CF despite never having played it in MLB. His OPS+ is the best of his career.
Baez and Tork are tied for highest WAR on the team.
Finally, there is Zach McKinstry who has the 2nd best WAR (just barely below Tork and Baez) and putting up an excellent slash line. He raised a .215 BA to .282 and his OPS from .614 to .787.
Four great stories. But which one is the best? Which one has impressed you the most?
It’s a tough choice! But you can pick only one….

Which is the best story so far in the Tigers' 2025 season?

1. One of the winningest teams in all of MLB.

2. The resurrection of 2 former #1 draft picks in Mize and Torkelson.

3. The re-birth of Javier Baez.

4. Utility man Zach McKinstry turning into 1 of the main players.
