Totally Tigers
The Detroit Tigers have a rotating infield, especiallly on the left hand side. And now with the latest injury to Gleyber Torres, things will be changing once again.
Zach McKinstry has played 2B the most, followed by Hao-Yu Lee. Kevin McGonigle has seen 3B more with Colt Keith after him.
McGonigle has played SS more than any other position. Zach Short ranks #2 at that position but now he is gone.
In the meantime, Colt Keith is heating up, hitting 4 HRs in less than a week, with 3 of them coming in just 1 game.
With the loss of Torres and Short, how should the Tigers divide the work?
Should they continue to split each position with 2 players each at 2B, 3B and SS?
Or should they have each position manned primarily by just 1 player? Hao-Yu Lee at 2B, Colt Keith at 3B and Kevin McGonigle at SS with Zach McKinstry filling in occasionally at all 3 positions in order to give players a rest?
How should the Tigers assign the infield work going forward?
1. Continue to have 2 players divide the work at 2B, 3B and SS.
2. Move to assign primarily 1 player each per position.
