GAME 94 - Detroit Tigers vs. Philadelphia Phillies, Friday, July 10, 2026 6:40 PM

Tigers had an early game, so not too many pick ups right now. But Thiers have good news 6 under. 9-1 in last TEN. Jack gets 3rd win. 3-1 in last 6 games, 2 in a row. ERA down to 4.48, 1.52 in July, 98k's 11 in july

Now we know what the reason was that Will Vest was having a tough time of it pitching in relief.

Tigers reliever Will Vest diagnosed with stress fracture in right elbow.
Reliever Will Vest was back in the clubhouse Friday after spending a week in Dallas getting multiple medical opinions on his aching right elbow.
The final diagnosis, as announced by manager AJ Hinch before the game: Vest has a stress fracture in a bone at the back of his right elbow. The good news, the injury does not require surgery.
"Now we have an actual plan moving forward, and that's the good part," Hinch said. "All that stuff sounds scary and we don't really know what is going on. Then you get a battery of tests and we can react accordingly."

Detroit has won nine of its last 10 and is an AL-best 22-12 since June 1.

The only bad thing about the game is that McGonigle's streak of consecutive games of getting on base at least 2 times, that he set a Major League passing aaron judge's record, was stopped.

Tigers stay hot, rout Phillies 10-2 for sixth consecutive win.
Most of the drama for the first five innings Friday night was atmospheric.
Rain clouds gradually creeped through the area in the fourth and fifth innings, scattering the fans but not stopping play.
But in the bottom of the sixth, it was the Tigers’ offense -- sparked again by rookie Eduardo Valencia – that provided all the entertainment the festive crowd of 34,084 at Comerica Park could want.

Well isn't that great news. How long will that take to heal up?

Tigers Minor leagues

Toledo (34-40) 1st half. (9-7) 2nd half . (43-47)overall.
Two game skid. Lost 6-3 against the (41-50) Indians.

Clark was 2 for 5 batting .270 and should be the tigers CF right now over Outman. He had a double and hit his 8th homer. Hopefully we have baseball in 2027 and both Anderson and Clark make the tigers.

Tigers starters over the last 14 games:84 IP / 1.82 ERA.

The Tigers are only 3 games back of a Wild Card spot. They’ve won 6 in a row. Mize on Saturday; Skubal on Sunday.

We’ve hit an MLB-best 63 home runs since the start of June. That total ties our franchise record for most home runs in any 34-game stretch — matched once before, from May 13 to June 21, 1987.

Kevin McGonigle cracks a 2-run homer with Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer Chad Smith in the booth.

SATURDAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

After a horrible start to the year, the Detroit Tigers won more games than losses in both June and so far in July. They are currently 21 – 12 (through Thursday’s games).
Hitters are starting to slug more and the Tigers’ rotation now holds the lowest ERA in MLB. Part of their improvement can be attributed to players like Mize, Skubal and Melton coming back from the IL.
Currently, Detroit has improved their win-loss record to just 7 games under .500 and are now 4.5 games out of 1st place in the AL Central. Both stats show a significant improvement.
However, it remains to be seen how much more ground they can gain over the remaining 2.5 months.
The trade deadline is in 3 weeks. At one point, it was presumed that the Tigers would be sellers. But now, no one is quite sure given their significant improvement in play.
It is likely that Tarik Skubal will be traded given his upcoming free agency and representation by agent Scott Boras. But the Tigers have other players who will also be free agents at the end of this season. They are:
Jack Flaherty
Kenley Jansen
Casey Mize
Jake Rogers
Gleyber Torres
Other than Skubal, should the Tigers be sellers and trade off multiple other roster members?
Or should they hang tight, add a piece or two and keep most or all of their impending free agents, trying to make the playoffs again?

Should the Detroit Tigers be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline?

1. Buyers

2. Sellers

2.5 back in the wild tied with Hou in the lost column, but do not have the tie breaker! Pick ups on hou, minnie, sea, a's, kc. Only 5 , but still upward movement.
Tigers got runs in all nine spots in the order in this game. Great when the whole lineup helps out.

I've been running some more numbers KJ 8.5 pluS TS 32 = 40+ m's CM 6.1 plus JV 13= 19+ ms . And JB 24 comes off after the 27 season, And poor old Jack got 20M's 0ff this season , might resign him? Tigers could make it happen. The next two games IMO are HUGH!

Kevin McGonigle has reached base 160 times this season. Since the first All-Star Game in 1933, only two players aged 21 or younger have posted a higher total before the break: Mike Trout (170 in 2013) and Al Kaline (169 in 1955).
Regardless of age, in the past 25 years only one rookie has topped McGonigle's total prior to the All-Star Break: Aaron Judge (164 times in 2017).
And Kaline's all star break came after game 81 which makes his total the most impressive. Trout's all star break came after game 93. The Tigers will have 96 games at the break this year.
