I have sound muted. That makes zero sense.I don't really understand the broadcaster's insistence that Keider had to throw the sinker to get a ground ball, when there were already two outs.
.111 in the last 7 games, and a bit lower than that now.We have a .153 #9 hitter and we are worried he will be picked up if we Dfa him ? His homers are so infrequent.
Perhaps Dirks (I think) thought there was only one out; he called it before the pitch was even out of Keider's hands.I have sound muted. That makes zero sense.
It frustrates me that we haven't seen any serious effort by Harris to begin to rectify that. He seems so wedded to not deviating from his plan, whatever that is.Even at age 36 Wheeler is one of the best pitchers in the NL. With half this team and bench players around the mendoza line they have no chance.
Or lay off that when it is outside, and you already have three balls...There were already two walks this inning, and almost a third; what was he thinking?Greene try's to pull a ball a tad outside. Hit the ball to left field please. We finally get two runners on and Greene fails .
Need a miracle now.
To piggy back off this comment . Scott is a bad GM. He let Freaking May happen. Short and Jones should have each never saw the field. It frustrates me that we haven't seen any serious effort by Harris to begin to rectify that. He seems so wedded to not deviating from his plan, whatever that is.
To me, he seems to be wedded to his own vision to the detriment of actually fixing things. Perhaps motivated by arrogance, perhaps motivated by an agreement to put up enough product to keep people coming to the game, but not enough to actually get better than that. We all know that the end of this rebuild was supposed to be a team that competes, and they never really completed the final stages of that rebuild, opting instead for wishes and dreams. To piggy back off this comment . Jansen should been benched. They are so wasting Montero and his arm..
It's pretty common knowledge that to build a World Series contender, you need to put the roster together with effective strategy that includes home grown players and trading. I think they are either too stubborn or too arrogant to do that. Hinch's approach to rote platooning is fine when you have strong, established players to platoon; we don't have that, either offensively or defensively. We have a few up and coming bright spots, and two injured veterans, neither one who appears to inhabit a leadership role.Waiting for the players they draft to make the Tigers a completely home grown team seems to be the plan, but many of these players drafted like most all the rest, are asked to play multiple positions in the infield and outfield, and playing out of position. I don't know if this is Hinch's philosophy or coming from Harris, but it means that most of the players are weak defensively at 2 out 3 positions they are forced to play. Also by the time Harris' plan comes to fruition in his mind, several of the players will become free agents and the cycle of drafting for homegrown talent will continue. This is so frustrating.
