Get StartedWhy? is there any chance it would change your opinion of him? I'm sure for every reason or every example you have an excuse for why it's either not true or OK for Bo but not for someone else, particularly Dantonio or you simply don't believe it. You've seen him act like a jackass on the sidelines and in post game press conferences - like in his last Rose Bowl loss. And there's this, which is consistent with what people I knew who played for Bo have said about him.

But you probably have other players who say different things about their experiences so it's not possible that this is true, right?
No, I'm not going to deny the truth of this. People used to quit all the time because of Bo. And there are several accounts of how harshly he'd be with people, even kicking them off the team, until he got the behavior he wanted. If that's your valid reason for thinking he's a jackass, so be it. I now know something about your expectations of a football coach and what's acceptable and what's not.
What did they say?
it's one of my valid reasons.

do you want exact quotes? we're going back nearly 30 years and I didn't have an iPhone or always have my tape recorder going back then. what they said was basically inline with what's in the article. I'll repost it here for you.

So you have more?
No anecdotal information? I can recall a lot of those about a lot of matters. Seems these examples could have stood in relief.
have you not been paying attention or are they not valid since we can't call it up immediately because it all happened before Al Gore invented the internet?
Not what I'm asking. Is it more examples of the same reason, or are there any other reasons?
Unfortunately, I didn't anticipate this conversation back then, otherwise I would have taken better notes. As it stands, they weren't my anecdotes, it was long time ago and Bo wasn't a hero of mine so shockingly, they don't actually stand in relief. If it helps, given our age the time, it was probably something along the lines of "Schembechler is a dick" or "an asshole" followed by a story about how he mistreated players or other people - again, consistent with the article I posted.
So you have opinions of players wrapped in hearsay who claim they were mistreated with no details from 30 years ago. Sounds sound to me.
How many do I need?
I'm kind of coming in in the middle of this discussion, primarily because regarding the OP what's done is long done.
That said, haven't both coaching and parenting norms changed since the old-school days of guys like Bo?
People would go to jail for shit today that was common place back then.

If, when you call Schembechler a jackass, all you mean is that he was really tough on players and threw tantrums on sidelines, then...'eh.
It's not great, but it's not an especially unique thing in the world of coaching either. In this context, I expected some level of jackassery relative to other coaches.
