What I was arguing against was a parallel between MSU basketball under Jud and the fab five. The fact that he specifically wouldn't deal with Ed Martin hurt MSU for years but helped in the long run, MSU didn't get a detroit PSL player between steve smith and Maurice ager, that's about 15 years. If you don't think that's significant for a program I don't know what to say. There is no comparison to Michigan at that time, they were dirty and it's naive to think webber was the first to take money when Terry mills was offered as well.Defensive a bit sbee..
Jeez he is just making a statement which is true. Flashback early 90's living in Vegas.. Sitting at the apt whirlpool. I whole group of Running Rebels Pulled up in nice fancy cars..
I also know a tutor who help MSU football players this would be before Mark D era.. She said and I quote.
'I have know idea how 90% made it into college'
Don't worry she helped them pass as she graduated from MSU as a engineer and now works at University of Michigan LOL..
Don't be so na?ve to think it did not happen all the time around the NCAA landscape.
As for your friend and MSU football, of course we take kids that wouldn't get in otherwise because they are exceptional athletes. If course they take less challenging majors and get help from tutors because they couldn't do the work otherwise. That's how it is at just about every program other than northwestern. We just don't pretend otherwise. If you were just trying to use some ammo against MSU, that's fine but your friends story has nothing to do with the fab five discussion. Saying that players weren't serious scholars doesn't compare to the biggest player payment scandal in NCAA basketball.
