M-blog report on Speight

I am JOK with JOK. Get the timing down against IU and then start winging it again OSU. A little more zip on the ball(he has) will be needed against OSU's more speedy defense.

Harbaugh said Speight will be out of practice a "couple days" this week and "we'll see"

Said he has not had the medical report saying he's out

"The doctors will give the input on that. I have not heard that he's out for the season." - @CoachJim4UM on Wilton Speight

I would rather NOT have an injured Speight in any game. He's late on his throws now. I cant imagine him being hampered by a collarbone inury on the other side of his body. You still have to use those muscles to throw with some kind of oomph.

Well, they should have given OKorn more play time during the season. I just hope it is not going to be a situation where he and the receivers are not on the same page, and/or the receivers have trouble handling his passes because they are not used to his throwing style/velocity etc. I haven't seen enough of OKorn to say whether he has any touch on the ball.

Speight has been a good QB this season, but not great. I have thought all season that Michigan won the NC with Brian Griese, who was not a great QB, so having a great QB was not a big deal. A greater concern for me is that they are going to keep Smith as the starter and leave TI on the bench and that they are going to keep bringing McDoom and Peppers in to run sweeps. Iowa was the last straw for me with Smith, and showed that teams are ready for the sweep when Peppers or McDoom are brought into the game. Enough with that! I don't know if it is possible this late in the season, but come up with something else!

O'Korn does not have a rocket arm like Morris. He has a good arm, but the velocity adjustment should not be too severe.

They are seniors who have been through the ringer in terms of QBs in practice and in games. If they have trouble with velocity adjustments, they won't have a career in the NFL.

I think sometimes we make things way too complicated. He's a CFB QB. If the throw hits the WR in the hands, they better make the catch regardless of spiral or velocity. It's going to be more on O'Korn getting it to the right spot, not the WRs needing to suddenly re-learn how to catch a football.

I agree with you. Everything you said plus the fact that today's WR gloves are essentially like having gorilla glue on your hands.
