Yeah, I know, playing a little debbie downer here. But MAN, Michigan could have won this game by at least 2 tds if they didn't do some stupid shit. Gardner dropped an EASY ball for someone his size, Robinson gunned a pass in the end zone when all he had to do was lob it, a couple of fumbles that we had 5 guys around, but the MSU guy recovered... I am ecstatic Michigan won, but that was WAY closer than it needed to be.

Ya. As happy as I should be for the guys beating state, I feel like this game was a huge let down. BUT, I'll take an ugly win over a rival...

Absolutely. They need to be much sharper if they expect to win at Nebraska next week. But lets hope that PSU can whip up on Iowa tonight.

The O has to get over this tendency to stall in the redzone. What is up with that? And the hesitating on the run has got to stop. The plays develop too slowly allowing the D to come up and stop the run for short yardage or a loss. Still reveling in the win over sparty. It was a real test of my cardiovascular health.

Michigan played well against Purdue on the road, and ND too for that matter even though they lost the game. I hope they can put things together at Nebraska.

GO BLUE!

To be honest, Borges needed to scrap the read option after the first few drives. It worked amazingly well against Illinois and Purdue, but MSU knew exactly what was happening every time. MSU, for some reason, has Denard figured out.

With the red zone, Denard needs to not rifle the f'ing ball when he has a man in the end zone, and there's no one within 10 yards of him.

Sparty's defense is really good thats for sure and they have Denard figured out. I will take the win but we outplayed them for most of the game. They really only had 1 drive and the drive with the fake punt. which they should have seen coming Dantonio does that more than any coach with huge success.

The whiff in the pass behind Gallon in the end zone was bad, but if he hadn't thrown it where he did it gets batted down or picked by the LB.

I'm sick of this damn offense. Can't wait to see a guy that can throw the damn ball playing QB again.

We must have seen that differently then. To me, that looked like a situation where if he threw a lob, high jump ball, there's no way that's not a TD.

I think that Gallon was cutting across the endzone and the pass was thrown a bit behind him. Still he was wide open. If the pass had led him a little it would have been a TD.

If he led Gallon on that pass it would have skipped of the ref's head and landed incomplete.

I still think he expected Gallon to stop and instead he kept going.

Al Borges had some horrific second down calls.. Passing when he should be running and running when he should be passing. He should have scrapped the read option verses MSU as they had it figured out..Defense played great and man it sure is nice to have TWO kickers that kicked four field goals because it won the game for us and that is something that would not have happened in the Dick Rod years. Hopefully we will show up on the road next week and play better on offense.. MSU does have a very very good defense so i am not to down... Except with Al's play calling..

DR has to hit Gallon in the end zone..He was wide open a shoot put throw would have worked.. Game would have been alot different if that throw is made.

PLAY PUNT SAFE IN THE 4TH QUARTER!!!! ESPECIALLY VERSES MARK.. COME ON COACHES ...

As tough as it is to see all those missed opportunities...at least they are there. It shows me we were a couple big plays away from this being much more comfortable. We will get better. Michigan State has a very good D and we should be happy we don't have to play them until next October. Moving right along.

*moved from the "happy" thread*

Listened to the MSU feed on XM on the drive from DTW to Charlotte. Blaha was completely unengaged in the event. Very frustrating to listen right up to the final FG. I'm curiously underwhelmed by the win.

Yep. I really think the coaches missed the boat on playcalling and especially that punt fake. 3 times especially really hurt.

FT breaks that long run and then runs out of bounds at the 6 (I don't know why he let himself be run out of bounds, looks like he could've pushed for another couple of yards on that play. Come on!) Then Michigan goes backwards and settles for a fg.

Funchess catches a ball at the 10. FT runs it to the 3 for 2nd and goal. 2 passes later, short field goal

Denard breaks a long run and goes out of bounds on the second to last drive at the 25. They go backwards 25 yards in 3 plays and have to punt.

Its frustrating watching that shit. I'm glad they won. I really don't think MSU's d is all that. They are very susceptible to misdirection. Borges used it once for a 20 yard Gallon catch-and-run early in the game and then never used misdirection the rest of the game. 2 screen plays nearly worked great when the MSU defender barely makes a shoestring tackle. Why not try that again rather than a Dnard stutter step into the line for no gain? I think a faster back might've been able to hit the edges against this MSU d. Then in the 4th, I really think the MSU D was tired and that MIchigan could've run the ball, but Borges bailed them out and had Denard throwing it.
