Begins IMMEDIATELY after our game, so I'll start the thread early. A win might get us as high as a 6 and a loss might drop us to around 8 or 9. I think, at the moment, we're probably a 7-8.

It is possible that the committee has locked us into a seed and the outcome of today is irrelevant. I'm not sure, but a win over Swissconsin would feel wonderful to get our first BTT since Tractor Traylor plowed the court.

I think UM is no worse than a 7, with the possibility of moving up to a 6 with a win.

Although in actuality the seed might be locked in at this point and it's something the Big Ten needs to look at as far as when the BTT final is played (except I saw somwhere that it'll be a whole week earlier next year?, wtf).

In recent years a BTT runs hasn't helped our seeding at all. After rolling through the BTT 3 years ago most had us pegged as 3, possibly a 2, especially at close to full health then and we only got a 4. 2 years ago we made a run to the finals only to lose to UW in OT in a game we should have won, and still only got a 7 despite that and a 12-6 Big Ten record. Last year we win the tournament and get a 2 when most had us pegged for a 1.

The only year I can remember the actual BTT helping was 2012 when we and OSU matched up in the final with in all likelihood the winner taking a 1 seed and loser falling to a 2. Anything more complicated than that scenario and I think the committee just locks in the Big Ten seeds regardless of the outcome of the final.

I agree. Arizona looked really good. Granted that I only watched the last two games, but they look like a top 4 team at worst.
