NCAA Tournament Selection Show Thread

At the end of the day I dont like our draw but we are still B10 Tourney Champs! I didnt see that coming a few weeks ago and I think we can cause teams fits.

Who really could have imagined that a month ago? Haha hell of a run
Go Blue!

First time I can remember that the committee got the right teams in and didn't snub anyone. I think the teams made it easy on them though. It was a weak bubble.
Any mid-major over Vandy is the only snub. Vandy had 15 losses. No business being in.

FYI we are at 12:15 on Friday. Time to figure out my taking day off excuse.

That's awesome
The first year was probably the best. Myself and 11 friends with "doctor notes" to miss school. It was our senior year of high school and we had tickets for the 1st and 2nd round in Indy. A tradition was born.

Toughest schedule in the country. They've got some really good wins. They weren't even close to missing being that they were a 9 seed.

SEC was strange. Not many bids, but the teams that got in got seeded pretty well. Vandy got in by beating all the tourney bounds SEC teams (except Kentucky) in the final half of the season, including Florida 3 times. They played a lot of fairly good non-conferences teams, but I don't think beat any of them.

Just realized final four is in Phoenix so if Michigan gets there just maybe I'll go. Though it's not really in Phoenix, but Glendale - I can get there in 10 minutes.

Even better, it just makes sense. Good for you and your friends. ****ing awesome!🍻

I'm in Mesa where in Phoenix are you?

I invited MitchRapp to hang out with you, me and Vic for the Wild Wings Bowl in Phoenix against Kansas Sate when we all got together a few years ago, but he said no, because he specifically didn't want to have to deal with his neighbor, GoBlueBigJohn.

I regret that to this day..

The main metric that they use, RPI.

They also finished 8-3 down the stretch. Which is another key thing they look for.

Not anymore. The committee is no longer supposed to heavily weigh the results of the last 10 - 12 games of the season.

Here's a quote on it from an article about Syracuse:

"The committee several years ago did away with part of the criteria that placed more emphasis on the last 10 games or the last 12 games," Gavitt said. "That's no longer a criteria that the committee uses."

They need to stop altering what gets an at-large bid. Just decide on your rules and stick with them.
