The best class I took at MICHIGAN. Primo Levi ...you could hear a pin drop during lecture - nobody said anything, came or left ...just so intense.

Still have the paperbacks in my home office (along with the Canterbury Tales and Shakespeare)

I know he retired, but has Ralph been visible in his retirement around A2?

yes - he came back and taught a class around 2011/2012 (it was actually using a room in dental school so I went to say hello)

a bit less visible recently

i wish i had kept some of my honors great books stuff from him - at the honors program 50th anniversary he talked agbout some guys who were right behind me who still had some of the stuff
