Remember the beginning of the season how Sparty fans said Maxwell was going to be better than Cousins? Uh, NO... The MSU "Streak" ends next Saturday.

GO BLUE!!!!

I saw posted on another site as MSU hate week. the only problem with that is I hate Sparty every week. If the team we have seen play the last 2 weeks shows up we will win.

I agree. Denard has to continue to play error free football. I know... Earth shattering.

I do think Denard will want to prove himself especially against the team that had so much to say during and after the Bama game

thinking back to the dumb shit some of their fans were saying before the season.

- they might lose in Ann Arbor in 2012... MIGHT lose... and that's only because it was a road game for them. that's the only reason.

- Michigan "still a couple years away from really competing with MSU..."

derka derka derka...

dumb people.

hopefully, denard doesn't try too hard. seems that's his problem

I not only wanna beat Sparty. I wanna embarrass them! I wanna get up by 30 points and then go for 2. I want them to kick an onside kick and score again. And go all out the whole game! This needs to be an ABSOULUTE STATEMENT game! Throw class out the window for this game, let them know who we are! And just put an absoulute beating on those mouthy SOB's!!!

it could but seriously I have heard Sparty fans call 3 games their wake up game. They will get up for the game because its us no question. And I think they are arrogant enough to think they can beat us easy.

$100 says gholston, et al try to yank Denard's fingers out of his hand on the first play and bring a level of dirty play not seen since the early-80's Oakland Raiders.

I'm okay with an ejection if it means a Spartan player is lying motionless on the turf.

And yes, it is to that point after the garbage Dantonio coaches them to do.

sparty will come in to this game butthurt over the loss to Iowa. They will be motivated and it will be a tough game. Michigan D must continue to bring it and pressure Maxwell, a few good sacks should rattle him with the huge crowd in the Big House helping, and they must stop the sparty run game. The latter may be a tall order, Bell is a good running back. Michigan's O has got to take care of the ball. NO TURNOVERS should be the mantra this week. There were at least a couple of times yesterday that Denard threw into double coverage, once was the TD to Funchess in the endzone. These turned out okay, but that was because Illinois was so bad. Do that against sparty and the result will probably not be so good. And there was that fumble that luckily came right back to Shaw. These things cannot happen against sparty.

I think the sparty D will be hunting Denard. The team has to protect Denard this year. If sparty is as blatant as they were last year, there will be a brawl in the Big House. The team cannot let that kind of shit go on like last year. And the refs must be forewarned and watching for that kind of dirty play and stop it, including tossing some players out (which they failed to do last year) or this game will get out of hand quickly.

Sparty would've been up for this game no matter what the result of the Iowa game. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't really care about Iowa. Michigan is their super bowl and they'll bring all of the emotion that they can.

I agree. I expect Sparty to pull out all the stops. I would guess that we'll see a bunch of personal foul penalties for unnecessary Roughness. I hope Hoke has our guys under control and they don't take the bait.

Agree with a lot of what you are all saying here. Must stay composed, no stupid penalties, no turnovers, cause hell in the MSU backfield. This is the first time in a long time I'm almost more excited to watch the D than the offense.

I'll be at the Big House Saturday and will be screaming my head off. Can't wait!

was looking at the stats... MSU's defense may not be as solid as they were, but statistically they are still pretty good.

their offense is more or less totally responsible for their 3 losses so far.

I'm thinking this may not be as easy of a win as we think, especially if Denard tosses a couple picks, though they still will have trouble moving the ball after they get it back.

the rivalry aspect is probably weighing in their favor now, since they're the ones that need to salvage a season. still tough to bounce back after an OT loss, rivalry or not.

the bottom line is, my thinking is the stats don't reflect much in our case, since we're playing a lot better now; two of our losses were due to playing tough opponents. we've had this one circled for a year, and I think we don't let up.
