Tigers vs. angels Game Thread July 17

When does DD make his move in the trade market?

I don't think we have much were willing to part with that anyone wants. Would love to get Dempster somehow if the price isn't to high but I wouldn't be surprised if we do nothing.

They need to do something. They need another starter and they need a 2b.

i just disagree with the Santiago can handle second base.. All over the radio today all I heard is let RS have the job... I giess it just happened to be when I was in the car.. I agree with Tony... we need a SP and a 2nd baseman..

What about targeting Hill for AZ..

The Tigers were shut out for 1st time since July 16, 2011, snapping a streak of 158 games without a shutout loss, their longest since 1920.
Tigers - Team RISP: 0-for-5. Team LOB: 10.

Pitches-strikes: Richards 100-58
Groundouts-flyouts: Richards 13-3

That's funny. I was just wondering when the last time the Tigers were shutout.

I like Hill. What's he cost though? He's having a great year.

Go after Scutaro maybe? He would be cheap as dirt...

Leyland on Turner: "I just think Jacob is a potential top of the rotation guy, but he just needs some more seasoning, I think".

You think?

Same garbage we heard about Porcello over the years.

Pitching Turner today was a mistake IMO. That 1 through 4 is monsterous and the rest of the Angels lineup is no joke either. Throw away game at best today because Turner wasn't auditioning for any trade (I HOPE!)

Still think Below should have started...oh well.

They are rushing these kids, this Turner looked scared again, didn't pitch inside, supposed to have three above average pitches, didn't see it unless pitching fastball away counts,

Porcello can't keep his pitches down, always hanging a pitch that gets crushed,

frustrating night and game,

sometimes in the face.

Sounds good S. Bust Hunter right in the chops..... No worries... I am going to a MTG limited draft event on Wednesday and every time I go to one of these the tigers win...So I hope it keeps up on Wednesday.. At least they have a tv going..

Turner looked defeated before he threw his 1st pitch, maybe it was the weather.

Turner was intimidated, cowed and scared, and 92 MPH fastballs with zero life get launched into the atmosphere. Trout's HR was especially impressive; it bounced off Sparky's #11 and onto the concourse.

I can't for the life of me answer why the Tigers were so high on this kid if this is what they saw prior to drafting him. There's nothing in his mechanics or presence that suggests he will succeed at this level.

100%

The look on his face was immediate defeat. Maybe the kid was going through something but he didn't look right. No way you want your pitcher to look disgusted, scared and bothered after a couple of pitches...it was odd. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt....
