Why is Avila starting against a lefty when Peavy will pitch a day game after night tomorrow. It would make more sense Pena tonight and Avila tomorrow

I think Perez has done enough with the glove to deserve to stay up and have Santiago go down. And he's taking better swings lately, too. That 3B last night was an absolute missile of a line drive...

And if Peralta has to serve suspension time, he can move over to short quite nicely...

Perez has no plate discipline whatsoever. He's bound to make good contact every once in a while when he's swinging at 90% of the pitches hes thrown.

If he can get up around to the .220 area and play good defense he's still a hell of a bench upgrade over Santiago, you have to admit that much...
