Cant get any worse than being shutout on the 2nd biggest stage in college football. Losing is one thing. Getting goose egged is whole different animal. Well deserved.

Now the Big10 refs(if they're picked to do the game) can miss some more holding and flagrant punches by Alabama.

OSU was proved to be fool's gold. They didn't deserve to be there. Michigan should've beaten them and PSU did...

24-0 Clemson. Wow, OSU getting shutout is going to look baaad for the Big10, if it happens.

Makes the pollsters and NC selection committee look stupid more than anything. OSU wasn't even the B1G champion and should not have been there. There should be an 8 game playoff rather than 2.

I agree make it a it a 8 or 12 team playoff and give our some byes to the top teams .
With Butt and Peppers we can beat anyone if Wilton just gets right. Man did he fade after the Iowa game.

I don't think any Big Ten team could have competed with Clemson or Alabama. They are head and shoulders above every team in the conference.

I did not see that beat down coming last night for OSU. Luckily for them they are one of the youngest teams in college football so they will be ok. Rough past two seasons for the big ten in the playoffs. Big fat 0s on the board. Penn state will get destroyed by USC and I kind of hope Western beats Wisconsin. Dreadful bowl record for the BIG.

If it wasn't osu then it would have been penn state....Clemson and bama were just better than everyone else all year.

Told a family member Clemson would absolutely club OSU. They have all the motivation, OSU can't throw the ball. One of the few times in my life I was right about something lol

As for the college football playoff...6 of the 8 games have been blow outs since they implemented this system in 2014. The Big 10 has been shut out twice in these games but they've also produced a national champion.

2014
Oregon 59 Florida State 20
Ohio State 42 Alabama 35
Ohio State 42 Oregon 20 (championship)

2015
Clemson 37 Oklahoma 17
Alabama 38 Michigan State 0
Alabama 45 Clemson 40

2016
Alabama 24 Washington 7
Clemson 31 Oho State 0

which is the reason a lot of people dont want to increase it to an 8 team playoff. Those 1 v 8 and 2 v 7 games would be awful and pointless.

I just disagree. Blowouts happen . Some still way to small of a sample size ro say blowouts will always happen. Make it a larger pool and see what happens.

Some teams match up differently than others. A team at 8 who is finding its rhythm later in the year might be the one destroying the the #1 seed. I think the game between USC and Bama would be a totally different game today. SC had no qb when they played to keep their defense off the field. They certainly do now. Penn State found themselves later in the year, also. 7 and 8 seeds would certainly put up a fight

With Peppers we beat FSU in my opinion and can hang with any of the final fourin my opinion .. oh well.

Oh and I agree with you totally .

PSU at least would've fared better than 31-0....you'd have to think

i disagree as well. was just saying thats the argument against an 8 team. There is a clear drop off in talent after the top 2 teams this year.....thats not to say that will be the case every year. They need to find a system that works going forward. 8 teams add 2 more games which is another argument against it since were talking about college kids now playing like 15 games.

And while i agree with the USC and PSU arguments....should they really be rewarded for being good half a season when these other teams were good all season.

Lastly they need to address the group of 5 problem. Again it relates to tlent....so say WMU gets the group of 5 nod this yeasr and the 8 seed. They would lhave played bama in rd 1. yippie lol. Saban would probably give his "they are a talented team" speil but deep down in side im sure hed be pissed he has to risk the health of his team right before a national championship to play the likes of the Broncos.

They can squeeze 8 teams in for sure..they just need to decide how. In the case of MIchigan....even if you had 8 teams would it really be fair to include the 4th place team in the b1g?

Ah ha and that is talking directly about a team like Clemson who looked beyond terrible and could easily have 3 losses. If we had multiple(5 or 6)) one loss teams this year, Clemson may not get in. Committee would start looking at everyones best wins and bad losses. And then 8 team playoff is being talked about all year. If 8 team playoff happens, im thinking the conference championship games would be dropped and the schedule gets dropped back to 11 games.

Nope...another subpar Big Ten bowl season to say the least. I don't expect Penn State to beat USC either but who knows.
