week of the Ohio State football match

Being at 2011, 2013 & 2015 - the last three home games - I will say that last year the Red was more prolific than in 2011 when most stayed home because the team sucked, but yeah ....maybe we need to, as home fans, make threats of physical assault or simply assault the opposing fans?? Seems to work in columbus - I've been to two games there and will never go again.

Columbus is a shithole and the fans are utter garbage. At least those who come to A2 have to own a car and be able to read a map and make the effort, but the default loser in Columbus looking to harass anyone in Blue is a loser, has always been a loser and will always be a loser.

Our fans never need to be anything like them. I'll never go to Columbus because of all the horror stories I've heard. We just need fans to show up, be loud and support Michigan.

This past weekend my sister had an entire row to herself. It was pretty sad considering it was Senior Day for a team with 9 wins going into the game. The weather wasn't even that bad. I hate the cold and I didn't even put on my coat until the 2nd half started.

There was always a problem in Boulder with Nebraska fans taking over whenever the game was played in Colorado ...the Friday following Thanksgiving. The number one excuse was always that the game fell on Thanksgiving (students were gone and many were out of town with family) and that there were so many NEB fans willing to (who wouldn't want to) leave and drive to CO, that prices made it hard NOT to sell.

That's why I say 2011 was dramatically different in that osu sucked that year and there was no reason to travel. And last year, while it wasn't overwhelmingly Red, it wasn't nearly as predominantly Maize and Blue as you'd want.

we NEED to beat them. badly. like a drum.

I'm trying to get excited for the game but I'm biting my tongue and not putting anything out into the universe that could come back to bite me.

Come on come on come on, we need to win!

This has been my approach as well. The same cannot be said of most of my friends and family who are, as my son says, "butt guy" fans.

My bro-in-law thought it was funny to teach his son to say go buckeyes one year during thanksgiving but at the time (he's in 7th grade now) every time he said it, he sounded like he was saying,

"Go ****eyes" and I encouraged him to repeat it over and over until my sister got pissed.

lol

Just looked at the weather in Cbus for Saturday on WeatherUnderground. Supposed to be clear and 45 degrees F. Good football weather. Don't think it is going to favor one team over the other.

How am I supposed to get any work done this week!?!?!

We have a chance here to punch our ticket to the Big Ten Championship game AND we desperately need to win to keep Ohio State out of the playoffs.

Maybe Speight can play, maybe he can't.

...and I'm supposed to think about my job right now?

Someone found this clip I'd never seen of Bo talking at a roast of Woody (near the end of Woody's life.) (skip to the 35 minute mark)
https://youtu.be/KuUhr5MHEVk?t=34m56s

In particular, I like this quote: "All you other people can go to hell. I'm just here because of Woody."

LOSERS ...

probably about the right time to drop this one again ...

It was even worse in the 1990's. They have cleaned it up since then. No beer in the streets or you get a ticket. Tailgate areas are also cleaned up. It's not bad down there anymore. You will still run into your fair share of assholes.

I still get a kick out of my friend who moved to Columbus as an Ohio State fan and came back a Michigan fan after just two years.

...

For those that dont know what a hitch pass is, it is when the qb throws the ball down the line of scrimmage(as soon as the ball is snapped) to the receiver and the 2 receivers in front of him block. Chesson used to get huge yardage with this play.

That's not a hitch pass. On a hitch the WR goes about 5 yards downfield then stops and turns around for the ball.

This video was actually shot undercover by a team sent by then OSU Athletic Director in response to reports that gameday conditions had gotten that deplorable. Also, this is from 2002 ...winning was still new again there and part of why it's better in Columbus now is that the team has been winning since.

I remember reading that up until the 90's, OSU still had an open admissions policy, as in if you were an ohio resident with a HS diploma, you were guaranteed admission. It was basically a big overgrown community college for a long time.
