Verlander is 2-0 with a 1.15 ERA vs. the Twins this season. He has struck out 17 and walked one in 15-2/3 innings against Minnesota this season.
If Verlander wins today, he will have a perfect month for the second time this season. He is 4-0 in August and went 6-0 in June. In his 19-win season in 2009, he was 5-0 in May.
Verlander goes for 20 today. Justin Verlander is the first pitcher to have 2 separate 7 game win streaks in season since viola in 1988.

I like it too. Looking at the player vs. Pavano stats kind of confirms it for me. Good to see Inge getting some rest before the real playoff push as well.

Not good Tom.
Must be a legit reason why he was struggling a bit before it was announced. Hope it won't be a retroactive DL staint. Maybe later next week, which is the/my hope for him and Alburquerque returning.

If JV wins, it will be the earliest anyone has won 20 in nearly 10 years (Schilling 2002).

They said on the radio last night that if not for us being 5 games away from expanded rosters, he would be headed to the DL.

They are hoping to make the next 5 with RF platoons of Maggs/Raburn/Kelly.

My guess is they are just going to shut him down as long as they can afford to.

I hope AA can get back to form. The BP is pitching great rignt now and add him and I feel very confident if the starters can get through at least 6.

Raburn over Ordonez in RF....Ordonez now officially at the bottom of the barrell.

they should just cancel all of the yankee games. i have no issues with that.

Happy Verlander day everybody!

Won't get to watch the game unfortunately, just moved into a new apartment and the cable isn't set up yet.

Go JV... Just got back from the beach.... Pretty excited about this...

I get to watch the game today, hopefully no douchebag's calling it (Buck/McCarver).

I'll check in between innings since tv is in other room.
