Michigan Softball update 7/6/22

Well, that blows.

Michigan?s runner-up status in the B1G tournament and the current number 20 ranking in the NCAA will likely get our lady Wolverines of softball into the NCAA tournament, nevertheless.


We?ll find out when kirk Herb Street and the old coach host the Sunday selection special tomorrow.

#23 Michigan 36-16 travels to Orlando for ncaa regionals. 27th ncaa bid in a row.

Regionals (double elimination)
Game 1 # 2 seed Michigan (36-16) vs. #3 seed South Dakota State (40-11) , 3:30 p.m.
Game 2 -- #1 seed UCF (46-12) vs. #4 seed Villanova, (32-22) 6 p.m.
 
I'll be damned! I had given up on them making the NCAA. Great showing in the BTT. I hate it when their bats go cold. Well, GO BLUE Lady's! Time to make a run in the NCAA tourney!
 
ESPNU will be broadcasting (or satellitecasting) softball during the time our ladies play their first regional on Friday.

Doesn?t necessarily mean the Michigan game will be shown, but it means it might.

They were never in danger of not making it. What?s bad is I think they may have been screwed out if the btt title. I think they scored the winning run but the umpire called her out when she wasn?t. That is what I read anyway. Did anyone see it ?

But I?m sure you?re right.


If I?ve learned anything from this board, officials hate University of Michigan teams in every sport.


They also hate professional sports Detroit teams.


All that said, that?s what made the tuck rule call all those years ago so difficult so historically influential.


Which Michigan player from the 1997 national championship team were the refs going to go against? The Heisman Trophy winning Wolverine Charles Woodson, or the relatively unknown six-round-draft choice Tom Brady?

In the end, the refs went against the Heisman Trophy winner. Because that?s how much they hate Michigan.

And the rest is NFL history.

Stupid pitch and stupid Alex wasn?t closing the game out.
 
If the game is not decided this inning I?m going to have to head out out of some business. I have the ESPN app so I?ll try to follow it on the road, but the reception is always a question.
 
This has to be one of the worst Michigan hitting teams I have ever seen.
