Game 3: Lions @ Vikings Thread

Dan calling a time out to save time was stupid. Minnesota was going to spike the ball.
And then Detroit defense bust the coverage after the timeout. Thanks Glenn.

I?m so tired of Detroit having so many injury?s to guys.

https://www.prideofdetroit.com/2022...alker-injury-update-torn-achilles-season-over

Most likely Torn achilles for Tracy Walker

Basically Detroit should never re-sign their own. They will get hurt (Levy, Romeo Okwara, Walker)

Kerby Joseph or Melifonwu time but most likely Ju Ju Hughes opposite Elliot. Walker was the glue for communication in the secondary and it showed on Sunday with him out. Unbelievable bad luck. Gonna need a Okudah type turn around.

or cut him in the off season and save $8M on the cap

Havent heard a safeties name called all year...the tracy walker injury means nothing.

Everyone is talking about the FG. Im still more pissed that in a 1000% passing situation, FOR THE GAME, were playing press man with no safety help lmao and let a WR 10 yards behind the closest defender. WTF is that?!!!!

Walker has 12 million dead cap and 11 million cap number. Think they would need to trade him to get that savings as I think the 8 million is guaranteed salary. And who is trading for that salary for someone coming off an achilles injury. Nobody

my bad...I read it wrong. I thought it was next off season that he could be cut with a 2.3M cap hit

Mike Hughes passed to Ju Ju Hughes and he didn't pick him up. Maybe Walker would have picked him up. At the very least communication issue that Walker was good at

Well, that was a tough one. We really should have/could have won it.

On the one hand, MCDC is an amazing motivator and I truly believe the culture is changing here. On the other hand, he makes some very puzzling game management decisions. He needs to get better.

They always talk a good game.. Not sure how many times over the years I hear the culture is changing only fur the it not to change.

Culture change doesn't mean they can't be beat or get injured or make stupid coaching mistakes or have miscommunication errors leading to easy TDs (when the leader of communication for the secondary is out forever now)

Responded to Week 1 loss with a win at home. Need to do it again. Tough road division loss when they probably should have won but the winnable games are coming starting with Seattle (1-2)

Geno Smith and maybe Brian Hoyer and Cooper Rush. Now is the time to strike for some wins. If they can't do it, we'll see how the team holds together. The massive amount of injuries compared to our opponents is not helping though. Especially Swift, St Brown and Walker now. It's crazy

Lol.

Beat a shitty Washington team and people forget that the Lions are still a bad team.

Season already lost with injuries, give me a top 5 pick please.

Agree injuries are putting this season in the balance already. We'll see how they respond the next few weeks

Not worth arguing if they are solid/mediocre (pre-injuries) or bad (most likely post injuries)

Interior Oline depth held up though even down to Dan Skipper. Two 3rd round safeties as depth in Joseph and Ife, though raw and position change. Jamaal playing well for Swift (even though Jamaal is clearly not Swift dynamic) plus the Oline opening holes.

They are clearly going to keep fighting. We'll see what kind of pick that entails and how bad the injuries get. Because there will definitely be more. We'll see if we ever get re-enforcements with Jameson, Romeo, Paschal, Jerry Jacobs, Vaitai, Jackson coming back. Can Swift rest a few weeks and then stay healthy. And how bad is St Browns ankle and Aidan's thigh.
