Darnold to Carolina

Its a 2 and a 4 next year. And like a 6th this year? Its really not much for someone talent wise seen to be as an equal to Zach Wilson. Jets gave him away so they could get a rookie QB contract. Something the Lions should learn one of these years!

If Darnold is Zack Wilson the Jets are in trouble.

Dead cap is 20m for this season. Why would any trade for him knowing Carolina has two high priced (dead cap) QB's? Just wait it out. Offer 15m cash plus Bridgewater.

20 million if cut. 10 million is traded. He can be had for the right offer, which would have to include another existing player with promise and draft picks.

A new team could restructure Bridgewater if needed converting his 17 million salary into bonus.

They are already trying to trade him

I’m aware of this. They’ve been trying for months.

Panthers GM Scott Fitterer said the team will wait until after the draft to make a decision on Sam Darnold's fifth-year option.
The Panthers want to see if a quarterback falls to them at the No. 8 pick before committing to Darnold. That's unlikely to happen and Carolina could use draft capital to build around Darnold, who at 23 is only slightly older than most of this year's top QBs. The Panthers have until May 3 to make a decision. Darnold's $18.9 million 2022 salary will be guaranteed for injury only if the Panthers pick up his option.

So they actually didn?t pick up his option. IMO they are still very much in the QB market if one falls to 8.
