Tigers vs Blue Jays Game #88, July 8, 2023

Just heard is was AJ?s 6th no hitter in his career as a manager. Ties him for second place.

Tampa Bay has lost 7 in a row and are still 22 games over .500. (57-35)
Baltimore has closed within 2 games of first.

Damn just watched the replay. So many Jays fans !

Man Monroe tried to jinx it so many times. Glad he didn?t !

I appreciate the broadcast from the players Jones, Petry, even Craig. Love the players broadcast and Jones was really emotional after the game. Baseball is so hard and we all want so badly for the Tigers to be good again. Maybe we are getting a tad closer. Man just some hitting and we could snag this really bad division.

Trucks no hitters came in a season the tigers were 50-100-2. Both games were 1-0 affairs.. first one was a walk off homer by Wertz. Yankee no hitter was a single in the 7 th. Tigers had a few errors in each game though. Also trucks was 5-19 with a 3.97 era. He only walked 1 in each game and had 7 and 8 strikeouts. Team did commit 5 errors In the two games.

Bob, If I might add the Tigers link and game stories to your list this is most interesting with game highlights and close calls.

MLB.com looks back at every no-hitter in Tigers franchise history.

Tigers right-hander Matt Manning through 6 2/3 hitless innings yesterday, combining with Jason Foley and Alex Lange to throw the ninth no-hitter in franchise history.
While the decision to pull a starter in the midst of a no-hitter is always a controversial one, manager A.J. Hinch shed additional light on the decision following yesterday?s game, noting to reporters that Manning had been struggling through the outing and was evaluated by team trainers between each inning.
Manning expanded on Hinch?s comments, noting that he tweaked his side during the second inning. Fortunately, it appears Manning avoided a more serious injury, and the 25-year-old hurler will have the opportunity to rest during the All Star break ahead of the second half.

Is this kid ever going to stay healthy? Looks like he avoided what sounded like a lat strain?

Matt Manning, Jason Foley and Alex Lange chipped in and bought Eric Haase a beautiful Cartier watch as a gift for catching their no-hitter. Tradition lives on.
