Tigers vs Royals Game 158 September 27 2023

Al Kaline missed out on homer #400 I think because of weather. Not sure if it was the last game or close to it. But it has always bugged me as a Tiger fan. When I look at his stats sometimes to compare him to other players I keep hoping I see I typo and Al has 400 lol.

Skubal definitely won't pitch tomorrow but Miggy's 2-2 stays so that's cool.

6/1/1958: Al Kaline homered to lead off the bottom of the second inning against Chicago's Ray Moore but the game was rained out after 3 1/2 innings. This homer would have given Kaline 400 for his career.

5/17/1963: A doubleheader between the Tigers and Senators in Washington was cancelled in the second inning of the first game after a 1 hour and 12 minute rain delay. In the first inning, the Senators' Bobo Osborne hit a grand slam off Don Mossi over the right field fence. In the top of the second, Al Kaline hit a solo homer off Bennie Daniels into the Washington bullpen. Those two blasts accounted for all the runs in the game when the rains came to wash it all away. Like the one he lost on 6/1/58, this one could have given Kaline 400 for his career.

wonder how many times throughout Cabrera's 20 year career that he hit a HR early in a game but it got called? I googled it but nothing came up.

I gotta say it was a confusing jumping up and down wtf moment when miggy hit that HR.

he flicked his wrists and hit it out the opposite way, when your power is supposedly "gone", you cant just do this, can you?

I really think he hits for contact 99% of the time, which at this point its what the team needs, but to say that. maybe try to hit it out more?

I think that almost any player can hit it out if they hit it square on the barrel. That's the problem though...barreling it up every time. He probably caught it just right and it flew out.

Shepard says that was the Tigers 14th SO of the season. Is that right?
