He had to say goodbye to his family by using a iPad. His family think he caught it at the Grocery store. RIP to all the victims of this nasty virus.

I found this resource that presents the data pretty clearly. I'm curious to see how accurate it turns out to be. This is the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington.

It has data for the US, but you can also break it down by state. It also tracks whether the state has a "shelter in place" order & when it was implemented. As of today, 4-1-20, for the US...

  • Looks like Deaths-Per-Day are expected to peak on April 16, 2020 at 2,607/day.

  • The last increase in Total Deaths is July 15, 2020, with 93,765 total deaths.
This varies per state; for example, in Texas, where we have only local, county-wide stay-at-home orders and closures, Deaths-Per-Day don't peak until May 7th, and Total Deaths don't plateau until June. Seems like these numbers are almost certainly underestimates, since we're not testing everyone, and some people who die, especially if elderly and alone at home aren't autopsied or tested after death.

boy, New York is fucked! Cuomo is getting so much credit for how he has handled this thing but it seems like he has really dropped the ball.
