Chicom global enslavement

meh, I'll take 300 Spartans over a pack of rodents (or Patrick Swazey, Charlie Sheen and C Thomas Howell if that was a reference to Red Dawn) any day.

Edit: I'd take Lea Thompson with the Spartans though.

You'd take 300 aggressive, gay, slaveowning Greeks over a group of good old Americans from the heartland?

The Athenians were the gay ones and they weren?t particularly aggressive. But what do you have against gay people? Not very inclusive of you.

And again we?re talking about modern times, they?d most likely have given up the practice of slavery by now. I have to say this is a weird position from the guy who is constantly making moral equivalence arguments when talking about Islamic cultures that still have slavery today.

Also, Colorado isn?t considered part of the heartland dummy. I would think a Midwesterner would know that.

Saw a bunch of tweets about this, and figured you'd be freaking out.

The precedent is set the next time they send one over they now we won?t shoot it down unless it?s over water. I only hope this serves as a giant wake up call to shield the grid from emp asap

Okay.

A search engine search for ?300 gay? brings up all kinds of commentary on the perceived homoeroticism of that movie.

This is my favorite.

That was pretty good. I?ve always been a bit skeptical of the historical accuracy of ?300? as well as a few other Hollywood films. As I recall ?300? is a film adaptation of a graphic novel, not any historical text. I can?t say for sure but when I hear graphic novel, I?m inclined to think liberties were taken.

I've seen these comments, and I'm sure a well-informed and logical person like yourself is aware the Chinese have satellites above us all the time, and we have satellites over them as well. Plus we have them ringed in with naval and air force bases, and the biggest ocean on the planet between us.

And the thing about weather balloons, unlike satellites, or ballistic missiles (which they also have) is you can't control where they fly... the air currents move them. So they're not really an effective weapon.

If you've been okay all this time knowing that the Chinese have ballistic missiles and satellites, a weather balloon should not worry you, or be a cause for concern.

if you think only the Athenians were gay, you are sadly misinformed. Try doing some internet searches.

Not a problem for me, I don't impose my own morals on other consenting adults NOW, (let alone those 2,500 years ago), but I figured it would be more of a problem for you.

and the Spartans practiced a particularly brutal form of slavery. Again, maybe you should look this stuff up, rather than relying on movies...!

Is that how it works? We shouldn't be concerned because they have other stuff besides balloons? Good take.

Thanks! yes, for once I'm glad you were able to understand the point of a post and agree with me.

Pretty peculiar path to take for a balloon governed by the whims of the wind. Just happened to pass over where many military installations and bases sit. If it's a mere "weather" balloon why is the CCP so offended by the US downing it? And this trial balloon may be repeated with something more nefarious than spy equipment.

As for balloons being a less offensive version of surveillance, I say that it's the opposite. It's more offensive, and the spies on the ground are more so than balloons. Especially those who sleep with U.S. Congressmen.

you're not allowed to be alarmed, concerned or even complain about balloons unless you also mention satellites, missiles and everything else they have. Otherwise, it's assumed that you only care about the balloons and not the other stuff.

Ignorance is bliss apparently.

U.S. failed to detect past Chinese spy balloons, Air Force general says

WASHINGTON, Feb 6 (Reuters) - A senior U.S. general responsible for bringing down a Chinese spy balloon said on Monday the military had not detected previous spy balloons before the one that appeared on Jan. 28 over the United States and called it an "awareness gap."

The Pentagon said over the weekend that Chinese spy balloons had briefly flown over the United States at least three times during President Donald Trump's administration and one previously under President Joe Biden.

Air Force General Glen VanHerck, head of U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command and Northern Command, said the latest balloon was 200 feet (60 meters) tall and the payload under it weighed a couple thousand pounds.

He did not provide details on previous balloons, including where over the United States they flew.

"I will tell you that we did not detect those threats, and that's a domain awareness gap," VanHerck said.

VanHerck added that U.S. intelligence determined the previous flights after the fact based on "additional means of collection" of intelligence without offering further details on whether that might be cyber espionage, telephone intercepts or human sources.

Senior U.S. officials have offered to brief individuals from the previous administration on the details of previous balloons overflights when Trump was president.

and so supposedly they never bothered to tell trump? I don't buy it. Buck Fiden and his merry band of woke clowns are a damn joke

I wonder is the Chinese got this bent out of shape from all those SR-71 and U-2 missions over their country the last half century, not to mention whatever it is we currently are using that's still classified coming out of the "skunkworks".

I don?t care or know why anyone else would.
