Culture Thread: Libtards and Republitards are Killing the US

^^^^^ A simple reminder that "The Aristocracy of Pull" is alive, well, and destructive in our world, nation, and municipalities. ^^^^^

The disdain MC has for Country Clubs, I have for Disney. Would that the lemmings who flock there continuously realize that there are more worthy and noble ways to spend money and time.

You won't get an argument from me there. I can think of better ways to spend $10,000+, no doubt. But I'm sure there are people that think what I spend on my hobbies is stupid too. To each their own.

I'd say it's a bit premature to call the game here and it's more than a little disappointing that people would applaud what Disney is doing here. But it's not surprising considering how many people think Disney's sexualization of children by the perverts and deviants that create the content is appropriate, even commendable.

For me it's less about applauding Disney (whom I don't support for completely other reasons that don't have buzzwords) and more about laughing at the ineptitude of government trying to out business one of the most lawyered up businesses in the world. Trump is going to have a field day with this in the primaries.

The world is, by nature, dysfunctional, but global enterprises like Disney foment and exacerbate that dysfunction by design, unlike, for example, umpiring baseball, guitar, golf, drawing, and ping-pong. (my hobbies)

I agree that DeSantis essentially threw a wadded up piece of paper at a raging fire, but at least he's shouting out loud that there is one.

Governments should seize control of any and all businesses they don't agree with politically...

aaaannnnd .... HEEEREEEES JHONNNNNY! -- with the predictable non sequitur.

Hey "2x2x2=9" ... no one here is advocating that. Nor would any "free-market capitalist."

EDIT: In fact, I would like the FREE MARKET to dissolve Disney, never some elected Pezzanovante.

If you're expecting to get me to defend Disney here or something like that, you're going to be disappointed.

Seize the company, march all the execs and major shareholders down to the guillotines, and distribute the assets to fund housing and schools in LA and Orlando, FL.

and make all Disney IP public domain. The end.

All Americans will live happily ever after.

It was a simple comparison.

Seize the company, march all the execs and major shareholders down to the guillotines, and distribute the assets to fund housing and schools in LA and Orlando, FL.

That's essentially the kettle melting the pot and reshaping it into a pan.

I like how he blames the cartoonists for sexualizing kids' characters, but of course the banks that fund their operations and collect interest on all of it, and the executives running the company... well, hey, those are good people.

No, just one big pan to squash us.

Well, from the perspective of the people in... well, pretty much all Latin American countries, Libya, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines, and who else? well, from their perspective, that's probably well deserved.

I won't say we had a good run - look how long Rome lasted - but we sure bombed the hell out of a lot of people. or gave their kids birth defects.

yeah, I'm not saying you are - that's why I didn't quote your post. It's far from over and call me a skeptic, but I'm not convinced Disney has the rock solid case Reuters seems to think they do - it will be interesting to see how it plays out but for now I'm taking this one w/ a grain of salt as Reuters, et al are gonna to be carrying water for Disney on this one.

which business is the government seeking to seize control of? And which free market capitalists are advocating it?

It's always the people who know nothing about what's going on and even less about free market capitalism that make these utterly silly comments.

you should change your handle to johnnymemefail2x2x

ah, you must be the free market capitalist Johnny was referring to.

Why are you constantly making up things you wish I said so you can argue against them?

Actually, all world's governments deserves a good pranging. But the chaff and the wheat are entangled.

I won't say we had a good run - look how long Rome lasted - but we sure bombed the hell out of a lot of people. or gave their kids birth defects.

Rome "lasted" nearly 1,000 years, so, by comparison, the US is learning to ride without training wheels.

Parody was never so authentic.

Exactly.

It was almost a half century ago, when various of the Beatles and the Monty Pythons figured out what Lorne Michaels was up to and approached him and told him ?if ya want it to fly - ya gotta mock the libtards (they were using the word before it even existed - but then, they were various of the Beatles and Monty Pythons) too - at least once a week.?
