Game 97 Tigers @ D-backs July 22, 2014

I agree I had the volume down low I had no clue Joba was not going to pitch tonight.

I knew he pitches in a few games lately, though I didn't remember he had a 20+ pitch outing.

that Cleveland series is all smushed together in my memory anyhow.

Well the the DBacks batters due up were terrible against lefties this year...

D Gregorius: .360 OPS vs lefties. Lined out to pitcher
E Inciarte: .547 OPS vs lefties. Walked
D Peralta: .571 OPS vs lefties. Walked

Coke said he was ok :/

It is what it is. Another loss, but can still take the series tomorrow, and that's all you ever want. Sanchez against Cahill should be advantage Tigers. Hopefully lol.

Now 2-4 since the break I think... need to mop up these poor teams..
Another bad AZ pitcher tomorrow... Maybe we can take the series like we should..

Detroit is 4-30 PH this season for a robust .133 BA, only Houston is worse (3-43).

Holy Yikes!!!! That is awful

Let the pitcher hit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Use the right stats Brad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bad Pen ..................check
Bad pinch hitters .......check
AZ hitters coming up bad verses LHP..... Think ?
No Joba...................Check.
Bad Pen...................check...
Rick pitching great.....Check

He should have stayed in...

DD....Go get Beltre and Soria and give Texas all of our minor league players and have them throw in APTBNL....

This team should be over 60-65 wins easy...

You really think this team has lost 10 games they should have won, while simultaneously has won 0 games that they should have lost?

Oakland leads all of MLB with only 61 wins. The Tigers seem to be right about where they should be honestly.

Yeah, but it's tough to have a decent PH on the bench when we have a hard time filling a lineup with halfway decent bats much of the time.

We just aren't built to be a late inning NL style team, we needed to do our scoring earlier and more often.

I think it's about 50-50. It always seems to even out usually, you get away with some you should have lost, and you blow some you should have won.

It's just frustrating that we seem to get our wins against the good teams, and get our asses spanked vs. bad ones.

Agreed. Losing 3 of 4 to the Rays. 5-7 against Cleveland. Only 4-3 against Houston I suppose is also a bit disappointing. 4-4 against Minny as well.

10-2 against Bal and Bosox combined. 5-2 vs. Oakland. 9-4 against KC as well.

Its probably 7... We could go back and look we probably have 14 really bad losses and 7 wins that we should not have won that we did.. either 14/7 or 12/6 or 10/5... Jesus I'm just guessing...

5 to 7 it is... (I think)

This makes me think that we really should have a 10+ game lead in this crap hole division.

The problem with Coke tonight is he's suppose to get LH hitters out..not walk them.

3-1 vs. the Dodgers, yet 1-2 vs. the Padres. Plus swept by the Blue Jays, and losing record to the Mariners. While winning records vs. OAK, LAA, and Balt.

If we could only play division leaders, we would probably be a .750 win % team LOL.

How many games has this team lost with 7th, 8th, 9th inning bullpen implosions.
That is, being unable to get the Hold, or the Save?
There's about 5 blown saves from Nathan alone, 1 from Joba,
and the 3 nitwits whose heads should be on a stick for not being able to get the Hold;
Coke, Krol, Al Al, along with allowing high percentages of inherited runners to score,
this bullpen is statistically and with the eye test a disgusting group of crumbs.

Wanting him off my team and wanting him to fail at the teams expense are not really the same thing.

But yes, I'd rather he didn't have these little (miniscule) stretches of almost serviceable ability if it keeps us from dumping him and getting a better player in here. So your interpretation is kind of a stretch, but I can see how you can get there with a little exaggeration.

In my defense it was a while ago, surprised I found it as fast I did. Couldn't bring it up and not post what I was thinking of. :)
