Tigers vs. orioles ALDS Game 2 October 3

I think the Tigers will make Vmart a substantial offer.

The hard part is going to be finding 2 solid outfielders.

An improved bullpen to add to a decent starting staff will make our offense look a lot better. We won't be losing games where we score 5 or 6 runs.

There are a number of guys who I would much, much rather see manage than Gardy, starting with Manny Acta or Lovullo.

I never said for next season. I meant (in my head) for the rest of the post-season.

Well, it's time for me to log off and get smashed, only way i can deal with a horrifying loss like this.

Ausmus said using Al Al was "never a thought" because he's an earlier guy, like "6th inning."

FIRE HIM RIGHT FUCKING NOW, LET LAMONT MANAGE THE REST OF THE POSTSEASON, AND THEN HIRE A NEW MANAGER THATS NOT A COMPLETE FUCKING MORON

As bad as our bullpen is, we have 3 guys who don't make me feel terrified when they come in, Sanchez, Alberquerque, and Lobstein. And our "Ivy League" manager won't use 2 of them.

Gotta stick with your 8th and 9th inning guys...clearly the smart decision.

I heard an interview on the radio recently with Ausmus, when the question came up regarding Nathan in the post season he said (paraphrasing)...

Pitching the 9th inning is a whole lot different than pitching the 7th or 8th inning, it requires a certain mentality, you can't just put in anyone in that situation. Nathan has that experience.

------------

I was excited about the Ausmus hiring...now I'm hoping the Tigers fire him. I would normally give a 1st year manager a pass on minor mistakes, but some of these moves are just mind-boggling...especially for an Ivy League guy.

If the Tigers fire Ausmus only to turn around and hire Gardenhire, I'm done with them.

So we roll with price>sanchez>verlander>porcello and resign vmart. Then spend Scherzers money on 2 outfielders and BP help?

Nathan also has the experience of shitting the bed all year long....which shows he doesn't really have the mentality that Ausmus is describing.

Our corner OF spots are basically set, barring DD actually being smart, its going to be JDMart in one and then Dirks/Davis in the other. A middle infielder will get traded to bring in a center fielder, and at this point i think its likely to be Kinsler. Trading him would open up payroll and likely would be selling high on him. The FA class is extremely weak this year.

I don't think we can count on Dirks. It's possible he plays, but the guy has had a couple serious injuries, and we can't bet another season on him. Davis still needs a platoon partner from outside the current roster IMO.

Oh, I'm definitely not counting on Dirks to do anything productive either, but if theres one thing we've learned about DD, its that he fucking loves his white, scrappy outfielders. I doubt we'll get a new platoon partner for Davis even though we should.

so where to you all think Max and Victor end up.

I'll say Max goes home to St. Louis and Victor returns to Cleveland, I think Kelly is finally done, Hunter either retires or goes somewhere he thinks can win, Moya new RF, Holaday gone, McCann and Avila split time. Would like to believe every single pen arm is gone but I know that won't happen, it needs to though. I'd replace the whole damn fucking thing. ain't a damn one of them worth a shit.

Not that I care too much, i'm done being a die hard fan watching every game. it's just too painful. it's not worth it.
