    I get that thinking and it is true I just always think if you can put a run together this year you do it because you never know what is happening in future years. I don't think tossing away any current season is necessarily a good thing but there are benefits like what you mentioned.

    Or you can say that non head to head matchups mean squat because the Royals and Indians finished much better than us in other games and we still finished 1 game ahead of them because of head to head. It cuts both ways.

    In a 1 run game I would be a lot more concerned about pinch runners than I am with a 2 run lead, it could still factor in but as long as the Indians pitcher doesn't completely poop himself pinch runners really shouldn't matter.
