2016 Election: Anyone But ....

If Drumpf manages to beat Shillary in the general, the DNC would look soooo stupid for putting their chips all in from day 1 like they did and ignoring the electorate and it's trends. A lot of liberals are being super cocky about the 'fall of the GOP' but despite his (assumed) loss, Sanders' successes despite all of the DNC's efforts was an extremely loud warning shot that they are far from immune to the same fate.

I agree totally that the Democrats seem way over confident verses Trump.

Or maybe "Wall St" and financial professionals in general aren't the homogeneous, single issue voting block that people think they are. I've worked at big banks, large and small hedge funds and find the mix of libs/conservatives to be pretty close to what you see everywhere. Admittedly, there is little support for Sanders among that crowd but that has more to do with the fact that they are better educated, significantly more financially literate and have a better understanding of how economics work in the real world and therefore know better than to support a fool that wants to implement economic policies that have a widely documented 100% failure rate. So while Shillary may get tons of Goldman Sachs money directly and via Super PACs, I'd bet the GS employee vote is close to inline with that of the general population.

Edit: they're better educated in real world practical disciplines, like economics and finance. I didn't mean to imply that they're necessarily better educated than your typical gender studies PhD, or did I?

This is my 5th Pres election since being in the industry, so I'm speaking from personal experience ...granted not representative of everybody, but the majority of those on wall street would align themselves with the GOP over the Dems and the old school network of brokers and traders seems to follow that.

And that's what I'm saying is different this election -- that there isn't any candidate that wall street likes ...Bernie because he's socialist, Trump because of his unfounded claims and plans and Hilary because she's ...Hilary.

So maybe folks sit this one out ...or are hoping for some random Bloomberg or Romney announcement?

I likely won't be voting, it's just laughable that of 325 million people in this country these clowns are the two candidates.

well hopefully you at least vote in all the other elections occurring on the same ballot on that same day, dingleberry.

personnally, as much as I like to think my vote is a magical, pure, expression of high-minded ideals of democracy going back to ancient Greece... I'm able to just hold my nose and do my civic duty when required.

on a related note: my vote probably won't matter much since I'm surrounded by so many retards here, but I will still fight the good fight. and right now polls are showing Billary easily trouncing Trump, taking 347 electoral votes to 191. Trump winning only in Jesusland, minus Florida, Nevada, NC, and VA.

I suppose anything can happen, and Billary is an awful candidate and human being, but as long as she doesn't completely speak her honest opinion about everything, and alienate voters even more than she has, she has this in the bag.

will be interesting to see how she handles Trump's dumb schoolyard insults.

I don't know why every GOP candidate opposing Trump didnt just watch that video of obama destroying him at that one white house press corps dinner in '12. piece of cake. but i guess that would be admitting Obama did something right and since the GOP can't possibly bring themselves to that...

I agree. I honestly wonder what our country will be like in 4 years.

I will vote on the local issues, and local races, but with the 2 main candidates for POTUS, I will leave it blank, just like I did on Tuesday. Sadly it won't matter and no one will care.

Then vote for a different candidate on the ballot. I'm of the opinion that if you don't bother to vote, then shut the fuck up for 4 years about how terrible things are.

All the asshats whining about who were getting stuck with in the general, who didn't vote in the primaries can eat a dick as well.

On that note, happy to live in a state where I don't have to register to a political party to vote in primaries.

Fuck you and your stupid club.

Why, so they can get 0.01% of the vote and nothing will change? The only other person I'd even consider is Gary Johnson, but I'm of the opinion that if your horse has zero chance of winning why even waste the time.

The reason they only get 0.01% of the vote is because people like you stay home because you think your vote wont matter.

You are contributing to the same problem you're complaining about.

Really? So which candidate from the primaries is better?

There were no others for the Dems and there were 37 or so for the GOP. Kasich?

I get it - don't vote? Don't bitch! But like was said, a country this great and this big and we settle for these two???

some of you guys need to check your sense of superiority at the door.

oh, boo hoo... there are no candidates who fit your platonic ideal of what a politician should be. now you're going to take your precious vote and go home. America doesn't deserve you. *sniffle*

you've been so involved too... watching a couple minutes of a handful of debates from your couch before ignoring politics completely for the next 4 years. you're so active in our democracy.

Have not missed a natiional election and do not plan now. It sure will be nasty in the next few months. I did unfortunately miss the primary this year with influenza. I would do a write in vote but I kinda like national election day and like being in the voting both...maybe if we made it a national holiday like it should be we would get a bigger turnout. But then that maybe just a cop out as everyone should want to vote.

Once Elrod puts $1000 on Hillary I will be confident she will win.

lol

Ironically the thread I started about that was called ...

My Inner Trump and donated money to a charity related to the Sandy Hook massacre

Glen beck is so distraught over trump winning he's rubbing his face in Cheetos now.

Once the veep choices are made by both I will then tell you all who will win and I will be right

At this time it's still not for certain shillary has it locked up, sorry but those damn emails aren't going away yet folks
