Game 17 Detroit Tigers vs. Texas Rangers 1:10 pm EST 4/16

I wasn't really sold on him last year. All off season, the reports that he was a lock for CF. Then in spring training, he tore the cover off of the ball. Now, he looks like the guy that I wasn't sold on. He has been terrible!!

Yea there is something wrong with his swing

He is swinging underneath everything

Which should be pitcher independent so I have no clue how he's gone from hitting well to this

this new announcer is just as cheesy as past announcers. A little better, but some of the "sayings" are bad. Just call the game, don't try to be some sort of comedian.

5 fastball strikeouts today.

I gotta look at the stats but strikeouts aside (which they started out well and are now trash) the team as a whole is underneath on a lot of pitches

Gotta be direction to get power. But they are just popping shit up or getting long fly outs

Before Tuesday's game:

The Detroit Tigers' offense is truly offensive right now. Gio Urshela leads with a .310 BA, followed by Vierling at .297 and Carpenter at .270. After that, it's slim pickings.

Four regular players are hitting .236 or lower. The other 2 are hitting .061 and .140. The entire team ranks #25 in offense with 3.73 runs on average scored per game.

Final line for Casey Mize: 6 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6 K. 95 pitches, 60 strikes (7 whiffs). It's his longest start since Aug. 30, 2021, the last start before the Tigers started tapering his workload that season.

Kerry Carpenter has hit three balls 414+ feet this season, according to Statcast. One was a home run. Today's drive hit off CF wall for a triple. The other was a double.

Colt Keith has hit three balls this year with an expected batting average of .930 or higher. Two have been outs.

Checking in on Colt Keith and Parker Meadows.

Also stands out that if Carp sought outside direction on hitting he's far and away the teams best hitter.

Trying run from Carpenter.
