Game 3: Orioles @ Tigers Thread

Everyone seems to be struggling with the wet ball today.

Wait.....not out at 2nd??

Smyly in for Sanchez who won't come back due to the delay

Lombardozzi singles (looks complicated, wasn't paying attention), 1 on

Markakis grounds one to Kinsler who flips to Romine, called safe at 2nd

Ausmus challenging the call

Dickerson is saying he can;t believe that call was not an out, Orioles announcers are saying that the transfer has to be clean and that's why it was not an out.

I wonder how they concluded the baserunner at 2nd was safe.

Guess it's like that catch and drop last year....you have to make a clean transfer from glove to hand or else it does not count as a catch/play.

Saying Romine never had clean possession of the ball because he failed to complete the transfer. Before last year I had never seen this rule be used.

wow generous strike 3 call for Smyly on Davis to end the inning.

Challenge unsuccessful

2 on, none out

Lough pops out in foul territory to Davis, 2 on, 1 out

Jones flies out to Hunter, Lombardozzi tagging, makes it to 3rd, runners at the corners, 2 out

Davis works a full count, watches a controversial strike 3, 3 out

Tigers lead 7-2 after 4.5

Smyly with a shaky inning, went longer than it probably should, 24 pitches

Orioles replay showed it was a strike, gotta hand it to them. Many other teams coverage would never show the k-zone if it was not in their favor.

Avila leading off, grounds one to first, Davis makes the unassisted out, 1 out

Castellanos drilled in the arm on a 2-2 pitch, 1 on, 1 out

Third HBP Tiger of the game

Romine hits one over the glove of Stinson, Lombardozzi backing him up, grabs it and throws to first for the out, Castellanos moves to 2nd, 2 out

Davis hits a ground ball to 2nd, Lombardozzi to Davis for the out, 3 out

Tigers up 7-2 after 5

Stinson @ 31 pitches
