Ebron is TE in name only. Everyone who defended the pick said he is a WR.

3rd weapon. The league is about mismatches. We needed one.

Year 2 we'll see how he does.

Lions signed Prater. 3 years 9 million. Got our kicking game set.

Doubt they would have given him that deal if they thought they had any shot left at Suh.

To save money, they'd have gone with a bargain option.

They don't need to pinch pennies (cap wise) to give Suh a long term deal.

Tony, go back and read the draft thread if you feel the need. Don't have enough fingers to count how many times it was stated Ebron is basically a WR playing TE, he doesn't block, he'll be used as a WR.

Ebron 294 passing routes, 147 run block plays, 11 pass block plays. Hurt 3 games.

Ebron had an average run blocking grade. Ranked 28th out of 67 TEs in run blocking. He actually ranked better than Pettigrew in run blocking. Now that is something.

Tony was the biggest ebron hater before the draft. Even picked him as the 1 guy he wouldnt want. not sure why he feels the need to defend him now. He was absolutely advertised as a blie chip offensive weapon that would be a match up nightmare, spread the defense and stretch the field.

He was none of that....ever.

Kellen Moore. 2 year deal.

Dan O back, Kellen Moore for sure back on a two year deal.

Not looking good for drafting a QB.

Mayhew problems. Weve been dang lucky stafford has been healthy as long as he has.....this will bite us one of these years. Should dump bith of these jokers....maybe grab a hoyer and draft someone you can groom like petty in rd 3.

I'm not very confident in either of them. If Dan O played 4 games against NFC West/AFC West, GB, at NO, Philly, Vikings 1-3 at best.

Raiders/Bears, maybe Vikings at home he could beat.

He's definitely not a WR out there blocking. Not a great blocker, but the funny thing is he actually was a lot better of a blocker than anyone thought last year.

How many teams have great backup situations?

I'll reiterate what I said last year, the back up QB is mostly irreverent on this team. The only arguments for better quality are "what if" scenarios. The reality is that, for the past few years, these guys have been getting paid to sit on the bench. If it happens to be a vet making the min and not counting against the cap, then that will free up a small amount of money to be used elsewhere, which I'm fine with.

The tin foil hat part of me also suspects a QB controversy is avoided with the suspect quality of backup QBs. We know how much this town loves their starting QBs.
