Scary moment for #Tigers in 8th: Martinez - trying to avoid tag at plate, planted left foot, made sharp move right, and hurt left knee...
Martinez went down in a heap, and couldn't put any weight on left leg...diagnosed later as sprained knee....he's officially day-to-day...
Martinez has been incredible with RISP lately - 17-29 going back to July 17th....3 hits tonight lifted avg. to .323, 4th in AL

Verlander ties Sabathia for ML lead in wins w/ 16th....he's got 10 more starts to get to 20W for 1st time...final line: 7IP, 5H, 3ER, 2W/8K

#Tigers now 8-3 vs. Royals...last seven wins have been by one or two runs. Tigers go for sweep tomorrow...Scherzer vs. Chen
Chen shut out TIgers over 6IP in April, career ERA vs. Det is 6.00. Scherzer has allowed 2ER last 20IP vs. KC (2.34 career). on air at 1:45.
