Jeremy Clark denied 6th year of eligibility

Glad to see the rules for 6th year only apply to Michigan players.

Hope he goes on to have a great pro career.

From another article.

"Clark redshirted his freshman year in 2012, but did not sustain an injury that season, which complicated the approval of a sixth year."

Then I found this.

Medical Red-shirts and the Five-Year Clock

Athletes must keep in mind both the five-year clock and their four seasons of competition. Even if an athlete gets a medical hardship waiver, he or she needs to have time left on their five-year clock (10-semester/15-quarter clock in Divisions II and III) to use that season.

This is problematic for athletes took a normal redshirt season or sat out due to a transfer. An athlete can generally not use a medical redshirt in those cases unless they get a clock extension or sixth year waiver. To do that the athlete show they lost two seasons outside of his or her control. The medical redshirt would be one, but the athlete would still need to show another.

"To do that the athlete show they lost two seasons outside of his or her control"

This could be the reason it was denied.

This rule didn't seem to matter for Ed Davis.

probably because of this

"Michigan State is filing for a sixth year of eligibility on the grounds that Davis was injured during his redshirt freshman year in 2011, as well as in 2015. Players must be granted two medical hardships to qualify for a sixth year of eligibility."

Injured my ass. He was winning scout practice player of the week during his "injury".

I have no idea...I just did a quick google search and that's what came up. Did Clark Graduate or is he on track to graduate before next season? I think that is a requirement as well.

Yep, gonna be young as **** (trump) at corner. Getting to the QB quickly will be more important than ever. I don't doubt that the talent is there...Hill and Long have the look of being early contributors, and the 2017 commits have promise, but I would have felt a lot better only having one youngster start.

Not sure on graduation. Checked his profile on MGoBlue and it shows his major, but not if he's graduated.

He dressed for every game and traveled for every game his freshman year. His redshirt was voluntary that year and everyone knows it.

Well, at least Jeremy isn't acting like a crybaby and whining about it, like he had lost an election or something. He went out and got himself an agent. Has to go to work now and make money.

Yep. Hoping he has a great career in the pros and that he doesn't end up with some garbage franchise like the Browns.

Pretty sure he graduated

Progress towards graduation is required snd by 5th year you are expectedto be done
