I think the Tigers played it well except not reading him before the season. Skubal is all about the money and the contract he will get will hamper his next team. Boras wanted the Tigers to start the bidding war between teams and they didn’t play along. I think Harris soured on Boras during the Bregman talks. I liked Skubal as a player here but he will never be a fan favorite in Detroit. His boys trip seemed so fake at the time and looks even worse now. He’s simply all about himself, not the team, teammates, fans or the city. I will treat him like Stafford and Larkin, hope they lose every game.

even then, it was a low ball offer. As far as it being clear that they wanted to hit free agency, that is within their right to do so. Nothing wrong with that. Knowing that, Harris should have traded him last off season...but I am beating a dead horse now!
