He was behind the wheel of a vehicle that went into a retention pond. He and the passenger kept falling asleep/behaving in a disoriented way as they were rescued, but somehow the police felt the driver was not impaired.

One of my all-time favorite Wolverines. I hope this is a singular abnormal event in his life. A wake up call.

Hope this is an exception on his behavior

Seems too nice to be bad one

Hoping this is just one of those stories that sounds worse than it really is. He's never had any issues that I'm aware of so I'm gonna take his word.

“I just wanted to let everyone know that I was involved in a single-car accident on Saturday night, and thankfully, everyone was safe and remained unharmed,” Robinson said Tuesday on Twitter.

“I thank God every single day for the opportunities he has presented me with and I’m grateful every morning to wake up healthy.

“I should not have been driving that late or when I was that tired, but again, I’m just glad that everyone was safe. God Bless.”

From the aforementioned Twitter

Glad everyone came out okay. I admit that I have driven when I was too tired and nodding. Damn dangerous and stupid thing to do. Especially when you have enough money to stop and get a room and sleep. Now a days I just stop. Best to stop and sleep than to get yourself or someone else injured or killed.

Hopefully his September Heismans weren't in the car or were recovered unharmed.

I've been so tired while driving that I thought I saw miniature deer running across the road. I swerved for nothing.

No worries, they were in storage right next to Connor Cooks and Leonard Fournettes from last year.

By the way, when was Sparty U's last Heisman winner?

He lived up to the hype in September for sure and against the dregs of the B1G but his only top 10 finish for the Heisman was a distant 6th as a sophomore. He was a great athlete but didn't accomplish much against better programs - he had a couple great games against mediocre ND teams but that's about it. He was 1-3 against MSU, with the 1 win being a 12-10 victory where he did very little in a year MSU went 6-6 (3-5). His only win against OSU was also a down year for the Buckeyes.

I'm not a fan of the Spartan hijack of this thread, but it's nice to see an argument unfold comparing expectations and outcomes for MSU's winningest QB (or close to it) and Michigan's QB from one of the worst periods in Michigan football history.

Friggin' ulnar nerves. Tragic.

yes, I'm sure about Cook - he may have made some heisman lists but was never even close to a front runner or in serious contention for it. With Denard, it was mentioned everytime he scored a TD against UConn or Bowling Green. Bringing up Cook's hype vs. Denard's as if they were similar is ridiculous.

Edit: and it's even more ridiculous to say the gap between their hype and their accomplishments is even in the same universe. Cook won 2 B1G titles and a Rose Bowl while setting his records as MSU's all time leader in passing yards, TDs and wins.

The guy won at least 3 September heismans but did he ever make first team all B1G?

Let's be clear who made this about MSU and who brought up Cook in the first place. If this thread was hijacked, it was done by a couple of Wolverines who can't take a joke.

This might not have been the best thread for a joke. If it was just an accident, that's one thing thing. But it sounds fishy, and Denard getting into this kind of trouble would be a legit disappointment for some of us.
