MIchigan vs Cleveland State

Yeah, I was looking at his game log the other day. That stretch at the end of the season was brutal.

It makes sense when you log at the log why when the postseason started this team just looked beat up and exhausted. We should have lost to Minny in the B10 Tourney. They gave all they had to get where they were and had nothing left.

yeah. some of my criticism of the play late in the season is probably excusable for that reason. that Big Ten shared-title was awesome, but it came at a high cost.

I don't think there's any doubt that Bielfeldt is a clear notch below the talent level of recent and current recruits, and agree he probably won't see a ton of time throughout his career, but I don't have a problem with him being on the roster. I really do think he'll play some meaningful minutes this year whether it's due to fouls or injury. There are going to be some (many?) teams where it's a better idea to bring him in as the 4th big man over McLimans.

I really don't know about LeVert yet...if the preseason buzz is to be believed he has a lot of potential, but I definitely didn't see enough to pass judgment. As far as the overall philosophy goes though, if Beilein does continue to recruit guys that are only going to stay for a year or two I don't have a problem with sprinkling in 4-year guys from time to time. You need to have some continuity and with Beilein's eye for talent, I don't doubt that guys like Bielfeldt and LeVert will be beneficial to the program as upperclassmen in more ways than just providing experience and leadership.

Not that I disagree with your philosophy but I think it's more accurate to say that Beilien's philosophy would be to have guys that are going to be here for 4 years with one or two year guys sprinkled in from time to time.
