RCMB Gold

LMAO!! Let us know when they finish Dantonio Hall there in EL, SBee.
Not a fan of RCMB, I have a login but rarely post. I'm sure it's similar to mgoblog though I've never seen that site. You can't really talk sports, it's all witty retorts and stupid off topic threads. I post here and on rivals which is the best board IMO. It is amazing how many people are on there though, usually a few thousand viewing. If you make a post and don't look for an hour your thread has about 50 replies or its 3 pages down. I think people spend their while lives on that board.

Then spend 5 minutes on MGoBlog to clear up your misconception. It's not remotely as bad. Maybe I'm biased, but I think Eleven Warriors commenting and MGoBlog commenting are in about the same place while RCMB is just awful. Reading any of that stuff you're sifting through the junk to find the bits that are funny or insightful; RCMB has nearly no redeeming posts. I wish there was a bigger/better MSU board out there.

Only in the poll era. I think we're close in rose bowl wins too without looking it up.

The link was a thread about Bo and Dantonio having the same number of bowl wins. Not the programs.

Aside from Johnny, I'm pretty sure the rest of us MSU guys on this board agree that it's a trash site.

Both M and MSU have 4 wins in the RB since 1953. Which is the relevant comparison. MSU is 4-1 and M is 4-12. Some Staties will scoff at M's 12 RB losses and I'd say, fine, I can scoff at State's 18-year gap in bowl appearances from 1966 to 1984, with acknowledgement to the no-repeat rule and the probation year. And I did not know that MD started out 0-4 in bowls as the MSU coach.

I'll take your word for it. You guys make it seem like mgoblog is the home of the dramatic fan overreaction. RCMB is all about stupid jokes, they have up votes and down votes for posts so members are playing to the crowd for approval, pretty stupid. Rivals is great because it's mainly rational fans and the writers like Comporoni and Rico beard. It's a pay to post site, you have to subscribe to the premium content in order to post. I think it's well worth it, way more in depth coverage than any news outlet.

people usually forget that Bo did not even coach in "his" first Rose Bowl loss... he was in the hospital recovering from a heart attack.

and while you can nitpick any loss, my understanding is that one loss due to USC's "Phantom Touchdown" was one that wouldn't have stood today, with instant replay.

I don't think we ever got blown out in a Bowl during Bo's tenure either. these things were all tightly contested battles, coming down to a bad break here or there. Not really a knock on his coaching, as much as a testament to the fact that he achieved as much as he did without fortune on his side.

My point is, our Bowl record was worse than it was.

FWIW... I read RCMB and laugh. it's good entertainment; I'm often laughing "with them" too, or at least with some of the more witty MSU posters.

MGoBlog just makes me sad. It's like every ****ing Michigan fan I hate sitting near on gameday... constant whining, the same 4-5 lazy complaints about Michigan football recycled over and over, etc. No real understanding of the game, and no enjoyment in just being a fan... which when it comes down to it, is what all of us are. The self-proclaimed "experts" among the fanbase are wrong about just about everything like 95% of the time, and have no more "insider" information than anyone else.

Never a blow-out, but frustrating none-the-less. M's worst loss under Bo was 24-14 to UCLA in 1983, aided by Don Rogers injuring Steve Smith and David Hall had to take over. He actually led M to a TD to make the score 10-7.

11Warriors and MGoBlog are actual news sources and based in journalism, with a message board community. RCMB seems more like a bunch of sparties sitting around and talking out of their ass about ....well, MICHIGAN.

I'm just going by the commentariat of each site.

I'm not familiar with 11Idiots. and as you know, I have a low opinion of MGoBlog's journalism, mainly that they can't seem to keep their own foolish editorializing out of it, or at least Brian can't. I'm not as familiar with the other writers on the site.

MGB has expanded it's coverage and has added staff but yes, Brian's opinion weighs large.

The board at MGB seems to vary greatly depending on the time of day. At night it's all a bunch of kids who don't seem to know much at all and during the day, the grown ups come out. There are also some pretty big dorks who seem to go back and forth with inside jokes and so on.

There are some pretty significant diamonds in the rough. Like just about anything from the Mathelete, the JU Bacon interviews, the Vincent Smith stuff, they maintain a two-deep roster, a list of Michigan fan friendly bars around the US...

Rcmb is a great board. Fellas are funny. Well organized. One of top college boards in nation, imo. I am a msu alum so maybe that makes the intrinsic and more EL centered annecdotes easier to understand and enjoy. But they are a "comprehensive" board - one that appreciates a walverine like me

What a bunch of ninnies.

'Band back together' quote from a bogus internet rumor during the coaching search as if Harbaugh himself or M fans said it.

Lol

We play Michigan State on Saturday October 17, 2015. Time TBA. They have plenty of time left to talk.

The more they say about Harbaugh, the more amusing it will be to watch them squirm out of their sincerely held opinions and predictions if we win.

To the extent they're buying into the whisper campaign from the 49ers Front Office about Harbaugh's character, well... I don't really know what to say to that. It reveals more about them.
